CLOSED: Spider found in my house

Can someone please help me ID this spider? I think it could be a Wolf but really would like a second opinion. I live in Warren, PA.

Thanks,

Tom

It certainly could be a wolf spider (family Lycosidae), but I cannot see the eyes clearly enough to be certain. Wolf spiders have their anterior median eyes much larger than the eyes in the ror immediately bellow them - see http://www.cirrusimage.com/spider_wolf.htm for images. The eyes of spiders in the closely related family Pisauridae are all fairly similar in size - see http://www.spiderzrule.com/spider408/100_1024l.JPG for an image.

I've added the best picture we could get of the eyes and back. Does the back indicate a violin shape of the Brown Recluse?

Here is a picture of the rows of eyes. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tom

While there does seem to be a violin shaped marking on this spider, it most definitely is not a brown recluse. Even without the close-up pictures it is fairly obvious (the banding on the legs being a clear indication), but with the close up of the eyes, this spider does seem to better fall under the family Pisauridae rather than Lycosidae. It looks like it could be in the genus Dolomedes, fishing spiders. Suunto is the expert here though, he can probably give you an exact ID.

The eyes do appear to be more like those of Pisauridae than Lycosidae; if it is a Dolomedes, it most likely would be Dolomedes tenebrosus - see http://tinyurl.com/aaylq
BTW, recluse spiders only have six eyes, arranged in three groups of two each - see http://tinyurl.com/r7kvof

Thanks suunto and drrex for your prompt responses.
