OK people, you gotta help me here!

San Diego, CA(Zone 10b)

Seriously I'm amazed...I've posted at the plant id forum AND at the cacti/succulents forum, and nobody has been able to id this plant!
I got this cutting from the local garden club and everbody there wanted to touch the leathery leaves....they're huge...not even the person who gave it to me knew what it was!

C'mon Californians...somebody here MUST know what this is?

Beats me too, rob. I think it is some kind of a tropical though.

Whatever it is, I hope it's not carniverous !

Fallbrook, CA(Zone 10b)

Roberta, have you tried asking on the Florida forum?

Fallbrook, CA(Zone 10b)

Roberta;
I sent this to a plant geek friend of mine. As soon as he responds, I'm sure it'll be with an answer, and I'll tell you what he says.

San Diego, CA(Zone 10b)

I'm convinced it's some sort of kalanchoe...

Santa Ana, CA(Zone 10b)

Roberta, I looked in my FLORA, but the only large Kalanchoe it listed had downy leaves. I looked for your post on the plant Id forum, but couldn't find it. Those folks are usually fantastic at Id.

You might try Kartuz in Vista. They specialize in weird, I believe. :-) http://www.kartuz.com/

Nah, too big a stem for pep or kalanchoe.

Gilroy (Sunset Z14), CA(Zone 9a)

I also think it might be a kalanchoe. Try posting on the Cactus & Succulent forum and see if anyone can confirm or deny.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I think it is a kalanchoe. too. I think I saw something similar last year in Oakland and the owner came out when I was snapping pics. He said it was a kalanchoe. I will see if I can find the pics.

I LOVE it! I hope it grows for you.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

The pics are sure varied here!

Kell, most of those plants are not Kalanchoe gastonis-bonnieri. I see those kinds of mistakes in PlantPiles every now and again.

robcorreia.................Did you ever find out what the plant is? I've been very curious to know? Even checked my big plant book that supposed to have everything....no luck?

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

I couldn't figure it out either.
What's the word, Rob? Seems to me it's some kind of a tropical.

I love being right once in a while....it's one of my least attractive qualities, but I've learned to live with it! LOL!

Dale,
You can contact Admin about errors in the pics (there's a button just above the thumbnails on the mail page of the entry).

Good ID, btw.
