Spider Lily

Pembroke Pines, FL(Zone 10a)

It still fascinates me every year it blooms and it is not yet at full bloom! Just beautiful...

I must buy more but they don't seem to be easy to find and if I do they are very expensive. I just happened to find mine at Lowes and they only had a few in packages along with the rest of their bulbs. I can kick myself now as they have not had anymore in two years.

Tplant what kind of Spider Lily is that? Out of all the spider lilies I've seen never have I seen one that cool.

KK -- I really don't know? I picked it from a pile of gladioli at Iowes two or three years ago.

This picture is not actually a spider llly. It is known as a "Blood Lilly" or Scadoxus multiflorus. I have several and the are beautiful and simple to divide in the winter.

Thank you for the info.

Yes me too! The package did say Spider Lily and it was mixed in with the other packages of bulbs but now I know what to look for.
