This spider hangs out on the back of my house

Peekskill, NY

I've seen him kill other spiders and insects, and I think it's a wolf spider, so I don't want to kill it, but I"m a little worried it might be a Hobo Spider...
Can anyone identify it for me?

Thanks in advance.

You don't need to worry about hobo spiders; in North America, they currently are restricted to the Pacific Northwest. The image is too unclear to be certain, but this spider may be in the same family (Agelenidae) and genus (Tegenaria) as the hobo spider - see http://tinyurl.com/n2epc8 for an example. These are not dangerous to humans, although large specimens are capable of inflicting a painful bite if mishandled.
