Round Up - a gathering of DG people. There's talk of one at the end of June in Ottawa and sometime during the summer in Calgary.

Well with a tearful farewell I sent the boys off. They are enroute to Nova Scotia even as I type this. Hopefully I will see them again later in the year.

Looking forward to showing the boys around. Do you think Bullwinkle can golf? Probably be a week before I see them knowing our postal service! Takes a week to get a letter from Halifax 200 km away.
The weather has been great for getting the new garden beds dug, warm sunny days but very cold nights. I am still holding off with my tomato plants until the nights are warmer.

I just planted my tomotoes last weekend and we had it pretty cold also last frost is suppose to be may 15 lol had 6 night with frost since lol that weather man he is always mixed up hahahah

A parcel pickup notice in my mailbox today so maybe the boys are here! We will see later when I go into town.
I did plant my tomatoes on Sunday but had to cover them on Monday night when I saw the temperature dropping like a stone and with a dew point below 0 deg C frost was likely. The temperature at my weather station fell to 1.6C and there was a light frost on the lawn at 06:00 Tuesday morning. It's about 3 weeks past are normal last frost date. Where is the warm humid air this year?

I just wish the sun would come out so we can all sing here comes the sun and it would stick around for more than one day, so much work to do outside and all that is happening is the weeds are getting bigger with all this rain lol

The boys arrived in cool and rainy Nova Scotia after their long trip from the rock.
We did not get them home until just a few minutes ago and they will be on their way to Ontario Monday morning. Starting in the morning we will show them the sights of Annapolis County.
Here they are inspecting an amaryllis in our sun room.
Maybe we'll get the Musical Ride here around Canada Day - we often do. Perhaps the lads can catch up with them somewhere.
BTW, I STILL need addresses for spklatt here in Ottawa, ON and Hortensia in Langley, BC.

I used to have a scarf exactly like the one that Bullwinkle is wearing. It was our high school colours circa 1978.

Those are also the school Colours of a High School here in TBay .. Hillcrest .. that just closed after being in business for 85 years !!

Good news. The lads have arrived in Missisauga with phfurballs!
WOW - that IS good news. I was really beginning to think they had fallen off the face of the earth!
I suppose we'll have them by fall, in the west. Rather disappointing, but at least we'll have the little fellas! I couldn't be happier that they are now onto their next travels.
Well, I guess the land mass is such that somebody's gonna get them in the off season for gardening. I had them in October - after Thanksgiving and there was snow while they were here. But if those that live close together can get together to host them, it might speed their journey. Like you, I'm just relieved that they have surfaced.
Wish I'd known they weren't mailed until July 18, I was beginning to fear my first participation in this exchange was going to end with me as the culprit in the 'case of the missing gnomes' ! But no worries now. I've posted our first visit at the end of the travelogue, so to speak. Should I be starting a new thread now ? Not entirely sure how to do that and have the links to the next and one before working properly.
What you do, is you post a new thread (in the Discussions page - go to Canadian Gardening, and then choose "Post a New Thread" at the top of the page (under Communities).
Name it whatever you like, that's related to the Boy's trip with you (such as Mississauga Trip with the Boys - just don't use my lame excuse for a title LOL).
Once you've created it, make your 1st post ("we came here, from there...yada yada.."), copy the address of the Thread, then return here, and create a post, pasting the address in.
Tallulah_B gave good instructions. if it's easier for you to start the thread and then go back to edit in the address of where we've been, that's OK too. Or you can make it the second post in the thread. And don't forget to go back to the last thread and put a link as to where we've gone. (I'll do it if you forget; so don't worry.)
Let's see, you could name it something like Moosissauga Saga or something. I'm sure if you let your creative juices flow a bit you'll come up with something much better.
I suspect the intention was to get them mailed on the 9th or else they sat around a post office for awhile before being sent off.

That would seem reasonable. And generally, the mailing should take 2-3 days (that's WORKING days, of course). scicciarella, myself, and spklatt and possibly drivenbonkers can likely exchange them in person.
