I just ask Dh how he had rooted his when he did it and he said that he went to the up to the top of the plant around a joint on the main stalk and scrape about an inch of the outer layer all the way around the stalk (DON"T CUT) just scrape outer layer off. Take spagnum moss , wet and wrap around the scraped area and then wrap gauze around that and then wet it good and keep it moist. He said he couldn't remember just how long it took to root but said when you saw the roots coming through the gauze you most likely had a good root system and then you would go below the new roots and clip it off and plant.
Just make sure you use the main stalk of the plant to do this on. Hope that helps.

I just cut off the top, cut off the lower leaves and put it in a pitcher of water. With in about 2 weeks it had started growing roots and then I potted it up. Very easy to root.
