Duck sitting on nest too long?

Conroe, TX

Can you put some food and water out there for them? We have had that happen with hens and chicks. We bring food and water and try to get them interested. The momma will start clucking and they come out and start eating. Maybe it would work with the ducks too.

Oh yes, corn and wading pool for mama, baby food and
waterer for babies are right there. I even put a light for heat
and light in the feeding spot, since it is a tad cool and rainy.
(Feeding spot is sheltered)

Well, today things are going to my satisfaction (for what THAT'S
worth!!) Three babies running around eating all sorts of trash.
I'm afraid that their pen is 8 x 16 feet, so lots of room for mischief.
I wouldn't even confine them to that but I had to shut out the daddys
because one attacked the babies!

Thanks for the link, Sandy. It is very interesting.
