An older one, but my first and still favorite named daylily, Paper Butterfly

This is the first one to bloom for us this season. It's garden name is "Big Yellow". It is one of my Mom's seedlings from many years ago. I don't remember what the cross was. It's fertile and has a seed pod set on it at the moment.

This is Cleopatra's Jewel. It never has the golden edge that it's original picture showed. It is sometimes spotty and rarely sets a seed pod.

This is My Special Angel. It is fertil and does have a seed pod.

I've been playing "Busy Little Bee" altho I only have about 6 seed pods so far. I've not tagged them this year of kept up with the crosses. I just intend to throw the seeds in the bed and whatever grows grows..........

I don't intend to ever register or sell them. They are only for my pleasure. I've waited three years for most of the previous seedlings to bloom. I tried to grow them in pots. That is a mistake. They need to be in the ground in raised beds. So this year they will be. When they bloom it will be wonderful and we will glory in their beauty or pull them up and try again! I'm not it in for the money or fame, that is too much WORK!!!!!!!! I just like having FUN and PRETTY FLOWERS!

I am your casual gardener, not a serious hybridyzer! This girl just wants to have fun.

I believe this is Velvet Rose. I have two pinks. I believe the lighter one is Silken Touch.....I might have that reversed.....any comments?

Several of my tags are missing or the "permanent ink" got washed off after 3 years. I have alot of NOID's. I do have a list of what I bought, so I try to match the pictures and do a process of elimination........If you think one of the names is incorrect I would be interested in knowing so. I can tell you whether or not I ever purchased the new identity......Help is sincerely appreciated!!!! LOL!

That is part of them. I'll let someone else post. Most of mine are early to mid bloomers and only a few rescape, unfortunately. I wish my blooming season was longer. I really enjoy them while they are in bloom. I have some other's that I will try to ID before I post them......they have teeth and are lavender......I think two are the parents of Mort Morss......which I don't have..... If I could only get them to bloom at the same time. (They actually did, but I don't think the cross took.)

I had said that I wasn't going to put any more pollen in the freezer........hmmmm, that is so tempting. I think I just might reconsider if they bloom again!!!!! I'm an addict.....what can I say! LOL!

I have the film containers, heck, why NOT?????? It'll only drive my son crazy.....what else is new? haha!

New Waverly, TX(Zone 8b)

I have a few, but won't post many due to having dial-up. What can I say, I'm in the boonies!

So many beauties. Almost makes me want to become daylily obsessed again. I had way too many though because I also like variety in my beds.

Annette, I love the combo of Geneva Firetruck and American Freedom. GF is on my old wish list (that I don't look at anymore).

becky, I love the shade of pink and the yellow on that eyed one you posted! Wanna trade in the fall or next spring? I got plenty of named ones to choose from. :)

TexasLizzy, Huzzah is a beauty!

Driftwood, TX(Zone 8b)

Hi, Charlene - your comment got buried WAY back there, but yes - I'd come to your daylily/wildflower farm in a heartbeat!!!

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

OH MY... go to sleep and wake to see more beauties!!

Stacie... what?? I owe you now...LOL.. btw... I'm afraid I have gone nuts on the dl's.... I also like variety!

Bali Watercolor opened today. I have several hundred cultivars in my garden--too many for the amount of flowerbed space I have. I'm trying to add in some other perennials so I don't have such a monoculture.

I noticed Mariner's Cove opened up today, first time this year, as I was leaving for work. I was running late so I didn't get a pic of it. I'll have to snap one this afternoon when I get home.

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Beautiful blooms.. I also am making my wish list! Charlene.... go to parrystreefarmnursey.com.... I believe your frans hals looks close.. closer than mine..LOL.. Everyone go.. if you want to get in a good sale!! They send clumps for most the plants... only thing is shipping is high because they use gallon size zip locks, and potting soil, BUT they have been the largest and best dl's I've gotten so far! Wilds and sons is having a great sale too!! Anyone else know of a good sale??

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

It wasn't Mariner's Cove that bloomed today, but Silver Ripples.

Sweezel, do you have an outside dog? Does your husband guard your place with a weapon? Are you a heavy sleeper? Are your neighbor's heavy sleepers? Is there a security system for your yard?

Just wondering............................

Becky, if there is money left in your wallet at the end of the month, go here and dream.
http://abundantdaylilies.com/index.php

Actually, if you click on the daylilies alphabetically, you will find some beauties that are affordable.

I hope to buy some from him next spring. Some of the ones under $15.00.
My heart longs for his "man in black". It is awesome.
Charlene
