Hi, I have three varieties of Fava Bean to plant in my garden. I have read that soaking them in warm water for about a week is a good way to germinate them, although I do live in a sub-tropical climate and wondered even about putting them straight into the ground - which way is better please ?
Also, if I germinate them first (by soaking ?) which way up should they be planted, with the shoot at the top or the bottom ? May seem obvious but as I'm a complete beginner I don't know how crucial it is to get it right ! Thanks.
