Please can any one Id this caterpillar that I found feeding on my Epiphyllums-orchid cactus.

I can't be at all certain, but this might be a southern armyworm, Spodoptera eridania (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) - see http://tinyurl.com/p46dtr

Close but there are not white stripes and it was a little bigger.

Please bear in mind that these caterpillars, like most cutworms, can be highly variable in their color pattern, and a single image can be misleading. In the case of the southern armyworm, the double row of black triangles usually is fairly constant while the rest of its color pattern can vary considreably.

Thank you very much. Luckily there was only one. I put it into the wild bird meal worm feeder so some baby had a good feed. LOL
