Thanks for the earlier "... April 1" thread, JasperDale.
News media informed us that temps reached 99 degrees today. Uh, puleeeease ... . It was 108 degrees over my patio at 4 p.m. Much concrete in direct sunlight, I must confess, but I don't typically register 9-10 degrees warmer than the City temps. Eeeekk! 108 degrees!? On April 16?
Pic is one of Sally Holmes' bouquets a bit overcooked. But aren't her bouquets stunning? Imagine dozens of these bouquets on a single climber, reaching easily 10-12 feet high.
Tomorrow is expected to reach 104 in the City. It oughta be 113 on my patio, then?! Uh, I think not! But, 104 degrees on April 17?!?!!
What's happening elsewhere?
Too Hot For May 16 !
OMG, it's already 81 degrees outside!! And I checked both the front and the back thermometers; one rests above the sprinkler currently on high and spinning about.
OK, OK, on with the AC, off with the doors and windows open.
It's only May 17th folks. This is UNbelievable!
Linda
It was a balmy 80 degrees here in Santa Ana yesterday, with a nice sea breeze. We had the record high in April with 103!

Hot and windy, and now another shaker. Weird weather. Hopefully it will cool down some this coming week.

We'd been expecting 100 by today, and instead it was a beautiful day.....small favors....
106, ultimately {eeeeeeek}. Average for this date is 83 degrees! I was out working in the parking strip plantings, but only the first half of the width of the lot was in the sun ^_^ But I did finish the work finally. My 17YO worker didn't show up this weekend -- go figure. If it wasn't my front yard I would have, either. LOL
It isn't expected to get below 90 for the next 7 days, ugh!
Linda
Was 99 when I picked up the kid from school. Too hot!
