The Flowerpot Cafe'

Coffs Harbour, Australia

Holy Cow Candee, they are huge! Your garden is looking really lovely!
Dalfyre, me too. I got teased for the kiwi accent, (still do after 14 years) and when talking to kiwi friend via the phone, they tease me too! I love Rotorua and taupo, and think they are the best places to visit when doing the tourist thing! I love the service aspect also, so much nicer than alot of tourist operators here. I'm sure there are good ones here too, just not on the days i visit them! he he

Thanks for all the Birthday wishes. I have been busy and haven't had much time to be on line. It seems I missed out on the mud fight and mud baths but Pyxle helped me get muddy anyway. She rolled in mud and then jumped on me. We both ended up an wonderful mess.

I would like to introduce a new lady to the cafe'. This is Dolly. She was made by my Father and has been living in Los Angeles with my Brother Tim. Tim has decided to retire in the Phillipines and has left Dolly with me but she needs to pay her own way and needs a job. She is very punctual and always on time on her mind. I think she would be a good helper for Madame Woodsy.

Louisville, KY

My, my Candee, you certainly have some big bloomers. lol Seriously though, your place is so lush with greenery. Hats off!

Zany! Glad to see ya. Hope you had a wonderful birthday. Yep, I think the mudfight has wound down. Ooowee! What a mucking mess. lol No problem, I found a magik wand tucked behind a jar of toad wings. Watch this- poof! Not a speck of mud anywhere.

Dolly, pleasure to meet you. Welcome to the Cafe. Have a cuppa. Let me introduce you to Madam Woodsy. Woodsy dear, Dolly would like to lend you a hand around the cafe. Zany can vouch for her dependability. What's that? No, she's not as pretty as you dear. Is she punctual? No less mindful of time than you. Good deal then. Madam has approved.

Watseka, IL(Zone 5a)

Hel-looooooow Dolly! Its so nice to see and met you Dolly. YOu are surely looking fine (...hmmm big bloomers eh , oh, thats her front.. gads I thought she was awwwwfullly tall!....***snicker***.....)

Well, hello Dolly :)

Zany, ZANY! Za-neeeeeee....hmmm where did she go?

Well anyway, anyone get to the new cafe? It is open now.

Careful crossing the street, its a wee tad muddy again due to the rain.

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Thanks they do get quite tall for lilies, and you talk about "top heavy" LOL!
Hi there Dolly, just want to let you know that Madame does have a rigid schedule she keeps to and so you best not get in her way when she is really on the move.

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Madam will not need to worry about Dolly being reliable. She is cloc faced and ticks to her own beat.

Gotta get to work now but Dolly will stay awhile so Madam can train her.

Watseka, IL(Zone 5a)

Terri, shes funnin' ya! With those hours she proposes, it dont leave much time for work!! LOL

Soz, wheres that Cheap Hoe of yours girlfriend? I saw you two over at the Rival.

I hear they got cleaned out to the bear bones last night with their business. They are looking for help too. The pay aint much, but its the gratification and you can come in anytime you want! they need arrangements and food and well, now that terri put a suggestion in their suggestion box, they plan to do lattes de coffee and many more beverages for your pleasures. Geek is supposed to tend bar too!! and well the coffee and guests will come from different parts of the world if thats your pleasure!

Well, I have to go check the animals. Its high noon and high heat here and time to do a swing shift skoz catcha mates later! Ya'll be good now!

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

The hoe and I have been together every day for the past week and we were out front on the sidewalk cafe most evenings. I doubt it was us that you spied on at the Rival and so what were you doing over there anyway?
Don't you go and melt out in that heat now.
Terri, least Madame had a good teacher!

london England, United Kingdom

they need arrangements and food? What do you think we are running here, a soup kitchen? LOL!

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Soup kitchen? Perhaps not, but sometimes it does appear to be a "free for all" in here LOL!

london England, United Kingdom

I was just lurking on Gwen's prom corsages thread! Like the sound of those deep fried cheeseballs Candee!

Watseka, IL(Zone 5a)

No, the rival cafe is a potluck house! Anyone can serve and anyone can come and in and set a spell, take a load off!

Me, at the rival, well terri um yum um.. I needed the job. They got me MC'ing the whose line is it games. Last night it was hoe down themes and I think it is still going on!. Come one over, we are not actually being a rival at all, just neighborly!

The mudwrestling continues so come on over and sling a little!.

Haighr, you too and that Cheap Hoe! and psssst.....elbow to rib. you your secret is safe with me! I knew it was you, the cherry wig did not fool me a bit, however the new do on the hoe did have me cornfused!!)

Ok, everyone, BYOEnD!

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Okay, Who dug the mud pit trap at the front door entrance? EEWW! I'm a mess!

It must be confusing to read us in all those accents. Which American accent are you using? LOL Northern, Southern, Midwestern...and featuring which ethnic variation? Do I have a twang, a drawl, am I loud or soft spoken? I can tell you that I can't sing...

london England, United Kingdom

We all love Disney films in this house, my dear Zany sounds just like the lovely Snow white!
I forgot to ask you about Dolly, she was wearing a hat and I couldn't tell what colour her hair was?

Madame Woodsy on the other hand sounds like Cruella!
I'm sure Candee's Cheap Hoe wouldn't be seen dead over there. LOL!

Watseka, IL(Zone 5a)

Well, I am gonna have to banish myself from here. The heat is making forever to load. Catch you guys at teh rival or Belles.

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Poor Dolly Isn't Wearing a hat...She just has Very, Very Big Hair ;~)

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Oops hope you didn't insult Dolly. I think she has a nice full head of locks. Must admit the first time I laid eyes on her it did look like she was wearing one, but I knew better than to say anything until I was sure! No point stickin foot in mouth unnecessarily, lord knows I do enough of that already.
So nice to stick up for my cheap hoe, she would not set foot inside over at rival. Sounds like a flop house over there with people just coming and going and helping themselves with no order at all. How do you ever keep track of the inventory with so many hands in the pot?
Sorry you fell in the mudpit Zany, must admit I was upstairs when I heard you cursin and peeked out the window and almost fell off my rocker laughing when I saw you drippin in mud. No worry mate just go out back and use the shower or perhaps visit with dalfyre and take a dip in the hot falls!

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Oh, The hot falls should do the trick! But the least you could have done was come down and help me out of the pit...I wouldn't have pulled you in...LOL

london England, United Kingdom

Very Very Big hair eh? ok.

We need to call an emergency meeting........ this situation with the Rival has got out of hand.

Woodshed........ 6pm. pass the word around please!

Sacramento, CA(Zone 9a)

Now the big question is, 6 PM whose time????

Louisville, KY

Oh goody, back to the woodshed.

Louisville, KY

Hey, where is everyone?

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Guess everyone was over at the Rival LOL! Hope everyone had a pleasant weekend. We stayed home and got a few things done around the house. Next weekend back to the cabin we go to mow!

london England, United Kingdom

I came running back over....... huff puff..... there's rats over there!

North West, OH(Zone 5b)

Hey Y'all! I haven't been on this thread in a very long time, but since I just finished my first attempt at an arrangement I thought I'd pop in for some brutal honesty. My SIL commissioned a bouquet to take to a friend and this was what I came up with. She didn't tell me if it was to sit on a table or use as a centerpiece so I tried to make it look good all the way around...which is harder than I imagined.

Well Howdy Lala Jane, nice to see you in these parts again, this old place is still hanging on!!
Pretty arrangement, what a lovely collection of flowers and textures! The green vase sets the whole arrangement off beautifully! It does look good all round, Thanks for remembering us and please keep arranging!!
Have you heard from Traci?

london England, United Kingdom

Cocktail on the house for you Lala!

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Terri, it is kinda early here for a drink...but that one is very tempting!

North West, OH(Zone 5b)

It's not too early for a drink here! Yum!

Thanks for the kudos. I've never tried my hand at arranging so I'm not really sure why she asked me to do it for her, but I think it came out OK - and hopefully her friend will think so too.

It's been a long time since I've heard from Traci, Terri. She just kind of disappeared on me.
