Have any of you experimented with Daconcil? I'm spraying my "Limelight" Hydrangea cuttings with it...and it's working. They are no longer rotting!
I now believe I have the cure for my Echinacea rooting problems!
I know it's not organic, but sometimes you need some help that only a chemical can provide.
Daconcil and Propagation
Is it a rooting hormone or fungicide or something?
It's a fungicide. I have been trying to root cuttings of my Limelight Hydrangea. The first batch rotted so I took 3 new cuttings, sprayed them with Daconcil.....and all the leaves are still on the cuttings! Yay. It's working!
It did work with 100% of my Hydrangea cuttings. Not a single leaf was lost from the cuttings. I didn't have to trim the leaves or anything. I'm trying with Pinky Winky Hydrangea now and will report how it goes.
Hmmm.... I'm thinking about trying some oakleaf hydrangea cuttings. Maybe I should cut to the chase and get some, huh?
I put my cuttings in a zip lock bag for humidity. I can't believe how quickly they rooted. It took about 2 weeks.
