Baskets for trade

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8a)

I would love to trade a nice handmade pine needle basket for trade of some nice fragrant oriental lilies. Size of basket depends on quantity of trade. Anyone interested, please email me.
These are some of the baskets I traded last year

They're beautiful! I wish I had enough orientals for trade.

How many lilies for the one in the third row, fourth from the left?

Seriously, cute dog and beautiful baskets. :) I don't have enough either, but if I did, I'd happily trade with you.

susybell, I had to do a double take and recount before I caught on to what you were saying. I forgot that Wally was in the collection. Sorry but it would take a field of lilies to contemplate a trade for him. Heheh

She made one for my granddaughter to use for a design and it is so beautiful. I don't have any lillies to send or I would. Thanks again for the basket. Susan

Hey Susan, how are you? Don't I owe you an extra basket? I think that I had mentioned that I would make you an extra one didn't I? LMK. What did we trade for last year? I don't remember. I could check my trade list but maybe you can remember faster.

I send you a bunch of iris, and you had said you would make Jennifer another basket yes, but we aren't in any hurry. And I may have some more iris this summer if you want some. The other basket is put up and just used for designs. It is so neat and beautiful you do such good work. Thanks Susan

Hey Jan!
Glad to see your up and running again. I hope there isn't any lasting damage in your hand. I still love the basket you made for me, as does everyone who sees it.

I would only have two Lilium speciosum var. rubrum (oriental), but they aren't shippable now anyway.

Rick

P.S. Thanks again for putting up with me.

Hi Jan,
Lol, I enjoyed finding him in among your baskets.. :)

I would have some in the fall, but everything is too grown to send out now. The baskets are beautiful and I would love to trade. What type of orientals are you looking for? Anything in particular.

Yes....the dog is adorable too ;)

magnolialover,
I love the fragrant ones. I'm not up on the names but I bought 4 of the Miss lucy from one of the tv shopping networks and they all died. I got my money back but I really would like to have some more. I don't know what happened with them but my neighbors did the same thing.
I am willing to wait till fall. Do you have any photos of yours?

Hi there Rick, I am so happy that you are enjoying your great basket. Boy, wasn't that a game of trial and error but we finally got it right. Hehe. I can wait if you want to trade again. Let me know.

Jan I would be happy to contact you after I evaluate how my lilies have done this year, probably August and can discuss some trading options with you then, if that works, with photos taken from my garden.

Look forward to it.

jan i was the lucky recipient of your many talents (not a basket-counted cross stitch) and wonder if you would ever consider teaching us on dave's how to make baskets? you seem good at the photos and you could do step by step and maybe we could just send what ever we have plant wise as a payment--just a thought

Planolinda, I learned from a book called Pine Needle Basketry by Judy Mallow. I just went page by page which is what I would do if I was to show you online. It is a very good book to learn from as the instructions are illistrated really well and the directions are very easy to understand. I couldn't explain it any better then the book does but if you don't have access to the book I can copy and send you the directions if you like. I really don't have the time just now. I was suppose to do a tutorial on beading the gourds but I haven't gotten to that yet either. So much to do and so little time. Let me know if you would like the directions and I will either scan and send them or copy them for you.

i understand completely about the too little time --if you get the time you can scan the directions and if they look as easy as you say to follow i might give it a try some time--if i do give it a try it won't be for a while so don't rush--i hope you get lots of great plants for your trades and that your garden just fills in --have a good rest of the weekend!

Thanks for understanding. Its is beautiful here this weekend finnally. My husband took me to the aquarium this morning and I loved watching the jellyfish and the otters and sea lions. It is the aquarium that used to house Keiko the killer whale.
