Thanks, Byron. Interesting viewpoint, and I agree that the Taliban is not Afghanistan.

If we give our emotions a little time to heal, the proper way to handle this situation becomes crystal clear. I'm not saying we should NOT retaliate, but we must....MUST be careful to do so effectively. Which means making certain that the REAL enemy is the one brought to justice....in whatever form that may be.

Thank you Byron, for sharing the link. It IS something we all need to think about.

Byron, I am glad that you put that up. I got it from a good friend, but still do know know how to cut/paste/transfer/etc. to this site. I am in a state of shock and mourning, do not want to target my gardening friends or anyone who does not happen to walk the same line that I do. I want to heal, garden and keep in touch with those that I have come to know, even if I have not traded with them yet, I value that which I have learned. I yearn for peace in all areas.

I doubt we'll start another world war. It sounds like Pakistan is on board with us now (sort of). Everyone around Afghanistan is lining up to speak against Bin Laden as well. I think everyone knows how wrong it was, what he did (assuming it was him). I'd even bet that the U.S. is getting ready to back the rebels (in secret) in Afghanistan to get rid of the idiots running that country right now. I'm also sure that we have promised Pakistan support of some type for helping us, since a lot of their people will be ticked off by the Pakistan government helping us "infidels". I think there are too many people and governments against the sort of terrorism that we saw recently and therefore will give us a little more room to rid ourselves (and the world) of terrorists than they would have otherwise. We've got NATO lined up already, and that helps too. Pakistan wouldn't let us come by ourself, but it appears they are going to allow a multi-national force. I'd agree that it's pretty scary right now and times seem a little uncertain. I don't think we're getting into another world war though. Just look at the Gulf War. I think that was more questionable than what we have now...and that didn't start a world war. Right now, we KNOW we have a real problem with someone...and someone is certain to pay the price for murdering so many innocent people and ruining the lives of so many of the living. It's horrible that some people think they have to kill us just because they don't agree with us...but that's exactly what happened. Everyone (with a brain) knows that the U.S. does not bother ANYONE unless there was an injustice that provoked it. I don't think we'll start a major incident...there are just too many people right now willing to participate in or allow the distribution of a few well placed bullets, bombs, etc for there to be a major war started. Here's where I get controversial...Even if someone really did have a problem with it, I say that's just too bad. We've been b$%#& slapped one too many times and for way too long. It's certainly not a time to let anyone tell us what to do when so many people have been so brutally murdered. If I offend anyone by this, I'm very sorry...but I've had enough...you have to understand where I'm coming from.
