to all those mommies out there - HAPPY MOTHER"S DAY !!!!
How are you celebrating Mother's Day?
Oh...cute girl...lucky Mommy!
thank you ! she's such a sweet girl : )
maybe some moms can share some pics of their cuties, animals or human is fine !
Happy Mother's Day mama's!
And grandmas, too!
My mom's (95th) birthday is today, so I called her. I expect Sunday will be a blow-out by the time the grandkids send their packages/flowers. My sis has great kids who love their grandma! For me - I sent her chimes with a hummingbird and a little dish I made in my pottery class - "Look what I made for you in school, mama!" LOL
Awww, how special Kathleen. Wow 95. Happy Birthday to your mom!
Thanks, Louise. And how special for your daughter to have her first Mother's Day!
It sure is. She's excited.

95 ! How fantastic - where does she live?
She lives in Eugene, OR, Red, next door to my sister Sally_OR. She moves slowly now, but is bright as can be. Still gets out and about with Sis - she enjoys the casino a couple of times a year - but is happy to stay home with her little cat. We're just happy she can still enjoy life. Two of her siblings lived to 96 and 93!
Mmmm - I love Eugene, fun and beautiful town. Sounds like you have great genes, I had a Great Aunt that lived to 113! She would order all her food on separate plates when taken out to eat, my Dad always got the biggest kick out of that. She lived in Sisters, OR - must be all the fresh air.
Celebrating by eating lots of chocolate (and slapping hand repeatedly).......
lol gypsy - I asked the family for a BBQ picnic.... well, they all couldn't wait so my D H is bbq-ing right now.... we picked up an ol' cheapo bbq at Walmart. It smellls good ! I made coleslaw & baked beans!
can't go wrong with BBQ...our favorite meals.....
Red, your DD is just too cute.
I'm going up to my sisters house tomorrow for a BBQ. We are having grilled Halibut. My sisters 2 children can't be with her tomorrow and my DD has other plans also, so we are spending it together.
I had purchased a nice size Clematis for her this month at the Spring garden show and will bring that up to her and help her plant it.
Donna
what a great sister - she's lucky !
I believe we're going to Del Valle Park today. My son made me a bracelet (kindergarten) it's cute. Olivia made a flower tissue pen and oldest, Sophia a sweet card (she's 11, they don't do the Mother's Day stuff in school anymore)
The bbq was fabulous! We haven't used briquets to bbq in a long time, reminded me childhood.
It's BBQ season, all right - we're doing chicken today!
We're doing carne asade, beans and rice! Not using the BBQ though.
I think we should all post pictures here of to show how we celebrated!
Oh your pond and Daughter are BEAUTIFUL! She brought her cat??? It doesn't want to run away?
Redtootsie. She is a very good cat. She will run out an open door but gets spooked and heads back in very quickly. She does not like getting into her travel kenel, but once on the road...she loves it and loves visiting with "grandma"!She may be back to live with me full time in August as my daughter is looking to the East Coast for her culinary internship. Why is it that your children move away and their pets stay forever? (not to mention all the junk they have been saving!)
My daughter gave me a frog for Mothers day! Love his webbed feet!
Great photos. Bea, your garden is beautiful and the new frog is awesome! DP, now aren't you the one? What a nice gift for DW!
We ended up not BBQing today after all. Watched the F1 race as usual and then ran some errands in slow-mo. Nice day.
KC's mom (and mine) had a good day. Spent time with her this morning, read all the cards she got. Decided where to put the wind chime and a wall hanging she got from my brother. I cleaned up some on her deck, it's been too cold to do a real clean. And I potted up some plants I picked up for her at a plant sale yesterday. After doing up a few of my own I went for a walk. Here's the pictures I took if you'd like to see.

toots, what a beautiful bouquet----as is the backdrop for it!
DP, I'm sure your DW was very pleased with such a lovely finished flower bed!
My 6'5" 240 lb baby boy came down on his motorcycle, and all three of us took our bikes out for a ride & some great seafood at Phil's in Moss Landing. Then DH and DS hung shade sails all afternoon so I can use my pottery studio & the front courtyard now that it's getting hot. A perfect Mom's Day!
Ima! We finally get to see you. A family that plays together stays together - nice looking bunch!
So, those shade sails really work?
Nice family picture. Its hard to imagine that a baby boy of 7-8 lbs at birth can grow to a 6'5" 240 lb man. I just have the girls and it is hard to see that a tiny 6 lb baby can grow to 5'4' 110 lb. woman! Life is so interesting!
LOL! Yeah, that's me---heaven help me if I ever start acting my age....
The kid was born 8lb 10oz & 21" long. And even at that he looked like a little peanut when DH was holding him----these guys have hands like baseball gloves! DS didn't really go "grow-crazy" till his last summer of high school. When he went back for Sr. yr, kids he'd known since 4th grade didn't recognize him. He finally stopped growing about the time he finished college...yes, "interesting" is a good word for it!
YES the shade sails work wonderfully! We have them in several places:
One over the courtyard has stayed up all year for the past 5 years, and has protected my potted plants from the frost in the winter, as well as keeping it MUCH cooler in the summer so we can sit out there.
Two small squares over the side patio keep the afternoon sun from hitting the concrete, and from hitting the glass-block wall of the enclosed patio; they help a LOT to keep the house cooler---probably 8-10 degrees difference.
The one over the yurt keeps it 25 degrees cooler---no AC in there, just a ceiling fan and a wind turbine in the roof.
DH has one over the side of the garage to keep the sun off his work trailer.
We're putting another one this year off the front of the garage so he has a shaded place to park his truck.
The cheapest place I've found to get them is from Costco.com. They come in several colors---the tan looks best with our house, but they have a blue and green, too. The first one we put up has lasted for 5 years (up year-round), and still looks great.
Ima, I've always wanted a Harley.
Can you all believe that I did not get one picture of Mother's Day??!!? The 5 kids weren't here at the same time and I just didn't even think about pictures...even of little Emma, some mom and grandma, huh?!?!
Are you KIDDING me, girl??? You need to schedule a catch-up Mother's Day Photo Op---quick before Emma gets too big for you to pretend it was taken Mother's Day 2009!!!
Actually (dish time) the picture I posted was from almost a month ago, the day I threw my retirement party. And the only reason we got a picture of all of us is that DH is going to his brother's wedding this month, and the nephew's family are all mad offroad bikers...so he wanted to show off....LOL!!!! I'm always the one behind the camera, and I'm always taking pictures of flowers and bugs to post on DG---never people!
When the progeny (assuming there ever are any---BTW: LADIES, THAT CUTE REDHEADED GUY ON THE RIGHT IN THE MOTORCYCLE PICTURE IS SINGLE!!!) look at my photos they're gonna think I was related to plants and insects....
ROFLOL
Hanging out with Sally on the floor. ^_^
I have a red headed son too. He isn't as big as yours though. Probably makes up for it with stubborness, unless that is just a red head trait. LOL! No daughters, sigh.
Nice family portrait. Good to see you!
WIB!

Oh what a great family pic ! Ima, your son is very handsome - he won't be single for long ! Sounds like you had a great day !
What a cute family! I'm going to start calling you "Little Bit" Red! :-)
What a beautiful family. I remember those days.......sigh.
The "eyesore" pool doesn't look bad, and it looks like it would lots of fun.
Your daughters are just GORGEOUS, and your son's adorable. And I like your pajamas, too!
As for your yard, at least you've barely moved in. Mine looked REALLY awful for years and years! I think finally having it done last year was one of the main reasons I could retire guilt-free. If it was still up to me actually doing it all, I'd still be dithering about whether or not I really wanted what I thought I wanted-----or not....LOL!
BTW, when you have 3 kids and live where it gets over 100 most of the summer, there's no such thing as an "eyesore pool"----just think of it as a "temporary recreational cooling-off area" for the children.
oh you are all so great ! And, you know that pool has gotten some serious use over the small amount of time we've had it , and I'm sure this weekend we'll be living in it !
Great family Red. It's so nice to put the face to the name. Ahhhh, yes I too remember those days with little ones. Sighing here too.
