I am trying to ID a tree that is in my husband's grandmother's yard. His Grandmother has been deceased for over 20 years. We live in zone 6, just south of Pittsburgh PA. The tree blooms this time of year---the same time as magnolia's and daffodils. In the fall, it produces small/hard seed pod/buds. I would say the tree is about 7 foot tall.
Any Ideas???
Pinxterbloom Azalea (Rhododendron periclymenoides) maybe?
