I came home from work yesterday and noticed at 1st. what I thought was a large thin sheet of plastic on the lawn.. On further inspection it appears to be a web of sorts. About 8 feet long and 2-3 ' wide. We have had so much snow and cool weather I could not believe a spider made it as we had 2' of snow anly a week ago on the lawn. I could not see anything inside it. Has anyone got a clue and any advise as to what it might be and if I should ignore it or do something about it. I am really in a quandry about it. Thanks so much

It's possible that what you saw was a fungal infection of turf grass known as 'snow mold.' These fungal infections usually become apparent just after snow melt in late winter/early spring - see http://tinyurl.com/d3bvwl
Suunto thank you so much. My H and I believe that is exactly what it is. Odd though as it is common in Y. We have lived here all our lives and never saw anything like it. We had such a long cold snowy winter so the conditions would have been ideal. Usually we have stretches of no moisture in between snows so that must be why it never showed up before. Your help is appreciated.
