These are the five that I got at school, its hard to believe that 2 days can make such a differance in size, the other ones are bigger you can tell the difference as soon as you look at them

Green, congrats on the good hatch!! I am so glad the kids got to enjoy watching the babies hatch. Eggciting.
Welcome Loon!!! So glad you made your way here. This group is amazing and very helpful. I find encouragement and answers here all the time. Your coop is great. Cant wait to see the run.
Grow, I missed you!!!! I soooo freaked out when my chicken fell down in the dirt and looked as though it was having a seizer. I thought for sure it was dead. LOL Yup, dust bath. hehehe :D

We wound up selling ten of our chickens to the neighbor down the road. They picked them up last night. We had 22 which was way too many for the small coop I have. I just figured some would die when I got them but none did. I had ordered ten of each variety and they threw in an extra plus gave me one fancy chick. I'm sure they'll be happier now with fewer birds in the coop at night. They're getting big and have their feathers. We have opened them up to go outside into the run now. They acted scared at first but have the hang of it now. They are 4 weeks old but it's been hot. They have the option of staying in the coop or going outside so it's their call. We keep food and water inside and outside.

We still have 12 birds which may still be too many for the coop. It was designed for 8 hens. We'll see what we'll do before winter. I may sell a few more. We're thinking of making an indoor run for them for winter in one of the stalls of the barn. That way they can stretch their legs without going out into the cold air. What do you all do with the birds in winter?

Unless it's wet and very cold, we let ours have their choice of hanging out in the coop or playing outside in the pen. I have heavier breeds which do very well in the cold.
