Sitting in Yak Dung
I remember seeing that episode. So many species in so little area. That L. lophophorum is to die for! Same with the orchid! Well, heck, the same with all of them. Where can we get some yak dung? Maybe alpaca will do. I can get that here!
That really was amazing -- so many gorgeous plants that many people strive to grow well in thier gardens, and often spend a pretty penny to have a chance to grow, and there they are, all growing wonderfully, beautifully together along a roadside without a single human hand to aid them! That orchid nearly knocked Dan Hinkley off the hillside when he saw it the first time...LOL!! I loved the blue markings on the backside of that Anemone....I've never seen one like it! And the Lily with the petals that stay connected at the tips, making a sort of mini hot-air balloon looking flower was unlike any lily I have ever even heard of!! I watched it several times just to look at those exquisite plants!
Thanks for sharing that link yehudith!
I just loved the way he was clutching himself with delight. And did you see the way he practically jumped out of the car before it had eveen stopped? My heart nearly stopped when he jumped back screetching when he saw the orchid. I thought a snake had jumped out at him.
I love China. It really is like that. My husband's family lives way out in the country with the house surrounded by rice fields and the mountains come right down to the edge of the fields. It is just absolutely beautiful. It reminds me of where I grew up. You could walk out into the woods and the floor of the woods was covered for acres with trilliums. Ofcourse back then I didn't know they were trilliums, they were just pretty white flowers.
I'd love to go on one of the plant tours to China. Talk about heaven.
