Challenge to DG!

When the stock markets open Monday morning...I challenge each of us to buy stock...even if it is only one single share!!!

Especially the AIRLINES!

Good talk, fivekulps, and I also came to this conclusion after talking to my Dad (who is currently in Germany) about the financial markets.

The U.S. has shown incredible spirit and rallying behind ourselves (is such a thing possible? To rally behind oneself... I digress).

Will we see Monday (should the markets indeed open) what we've already seen this past week? Will the country demonstrate its commitment not only to our security, but also to our finances?

Anyone who does want to buy stock, definitely select companies who are strong companies and have been listed for a long time. In my opinion, avoid technology companies (I'm not trying to start an argument here, just stating my own advice as I would give it to my family).

Buy stock in those companies who provide commodity services, such as transportation, food, etc.

There are also fantastic mutual funds out there that only have stock in the long-term long-running, and most stable companies. Ask your banker or broker about these, if you are interested.

i agree with dave here. my dh is into the stock market and belongs to all the news letters and they are telling him to hold tight and wait to see what is going on before investing more. they expect stocks to bottom out totally. so wait and watch then buy buy buy.

I am in total agreement here, and another avenue would be that if you are not in a position to buy stocks, buy US Savings Bonds at your bank, and buy only products of American origin if at all possible.

eyes: Definitely buy U.S. bonds!! The country will need the money, they are secure and almost everyone can afford one.
Maybe buy one of those and a safe stock.

Heard on the boob-tube last night that they might bring back war bonds.
