I found a baby of my red maple in the courtyard this spring and I'm trying to root some laceleaf cutting. Two years ago I dug up about twenty tiny maples from where someone threw maple branches off the roadway. They all grew and were given to the MG plant sale. One does get attached to the little guys.
The meditation woods should be very beautiful.
Too many Japanese Maples
Thanks Willow, keep them safe. I will get out to your place...... Sometime LOL
Neo, its funny you live so close but yet so far. We got to hook up before you start school again. And I kinda in to getting a goat, not sure as yet. You got any???
Hi Tills, it is strange how life separates people who live so close. The good news, bad news is that I am not working now so can pretty much match your schedule any time. I resigned my job due to a hostile work environment situation. I was being harassed because I was emotional after my husband died, and was being called a drug addict because I take pain medication for fibromyalgia and arthritis. Very nasty people. The offending parties were either reprimanded or fired, but needless to say, it was very traumatic. I am working on a website now to try and get work doing digital painting as a freelancer, so I can work from home. I don't have a large portfolio of work because I have been teaching for 14 years instead of working in the industry. I have launched thousands of successful careers, so let's see if I can launch myself! If I don't manage to get some income pretty quickly, I will lose my home, etc.
If that happens, I will need to rehome three goats! They are sweet and delightful. Sorry for the bummer post, it has been a very difficult two years. Maybe that is why I enjoy the flowers and animals so much, they are always there, everyday, the same. They are alive and beautiful, yet they do not seek to do harm. True, I might get a rose thorn prick, or a scratch from the bunny's toenails, but it was not a calculated, malicious attack. And when I grow a JMaple from seedling, it grows tall and beautiful, accepting my care and love, and gives back such beauty. A grateful child!
(Not that mine aren't!) ;)
I was pondering last night. Would people here want to commission a painting of their gardens? I might make enough money to pay for the animal feed! :)
This painting was done from a photograph I took of a creek. I added the koi and bridge. It is unfinished, but you get the idea. The painting could be printed and framed, and the garden could be enjoyed all year. Does anyone think that could be a viable business, and is there a place on Dave's garden that I could advertise?
Neo, sorry to hear of your troubles. You know I am wishing you the best outcome. I would certainly love a picture of my home. We are getting older and DH is ill so I don't know how much longer we will stay way out here. Since we designed and built this place with our own four hands we really love it, so a picture to keep would be special. My DH would love it.
And DG Marketplace is the place for DGers to sell and buy products. Just click on the communities tab and it's listed there. I've not really look at what's on there myself, but I'm sure there is lots of good stuff.
