Are they doing what I think they are doing!

Jim Falls, WI(Zone 4a)

2 of my lily bulbs from last years seem to be bursting out of the ground! do I need to replant them deeper again! I have never seen this before. But we have had alot of thawing and freezing.

They are at least mutliplying nicely!

Thanks!

I would just lift them out and bury them deeper. BEV

I'd probably just throw some more dirt on top. The will eventually pull themselves back down.

they are on a slight hill. So I will bury them deeper.

Thanks Bev and Ticker!

Then I'd take as much dirt as possible around the bulbs and then replant. :)

I'd just throw some extra dirt over them. The lilies from the Tiny Series seem to do that a lot. You could always transplant then in the fall then.

There's nothing close to them so it should work good!

I will look at them closer. But with having to go to work it will be a couple of days!

I've had mine do that before! They were all baby bulbs growing from the feeder roots. I just moved them in the fall. Some that were real bad I moved in the spring. Some of them even bloomed.

I've had that happen with stem bulblets ~ I'd just throw some soil on top and worry about it in the Fall.

Thanks Moby, I couldn't remember the proper name for the things
