Last I remember was I had just returned from the local garden shop and brought home some potting soil , some annuals and some tomatoes to replace those ones I had lost to damping off.
I spent part of this evening potting up things and so will have to do some photos in the morning!
mY gLORIFIED pOTTING sHED - pART 3
Well, HAPPY MAY DAY! Todays weather...hmmm... got a little sun, but they say:
Humidity: 82%
Wind: Calm
Barometer: 29.94 in.
Dewpoint: 48°F
Visibility: 10SM
Mostly cloudy. Slight chance of showers in the morning... Then a chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the lower 60s. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation 30 percent.
Well, here is where I left off last night after potting some things up that I bought:
I got a busted basket of pank petunias at the store. It was laying on the floor all smashed and I told the clerk I would take it if the price was right for cleaning up the mess! Normally they were selling for $10, but I told the clerk, I would take it and she let me have the thing for $2 so I brought it home and re-potted it. I love trying to get the bargain buys because a lot of times there is nothing wrong with them that a little tender loving care does not help! And well, I have tons of hanging basket pots. The flowers were fine, but the pot was mashed. I scarfed them up, the price was right!
Happy May Day Blossom!
It's great when you get a bargain like that.
Nice to see you keeping busy in here, keep up the good work. LoL!
Well, I got me a pile of work to do and I am dancing with the rain again.. OY!
Hey Noah, time to get hammering.. I need a grassboat like they use in Florida in gator country to get any gardening done here. Heck I tried to mow and got the derned mower stuck in a bog!
Thank goodness for chainlink fishing line.. otherwise it would still be swimming in that hole! OOPS!
Well, heres a little pot that I added some color to the vincas with the new annuals. It will look fine in a few days when it fills itself in! I just added different colors of impatiens in that with the vincas.
I dont know, but maybe the pink and lavender up ther might be reversed....looks like it. And there was also a white impatien in there, but its bloom fell off in the transplant so sorry, no photo.
Then I potted up some marigolds and a stella in this kettle...
There are two kinds of marigolds in there.
Divided the Red Magic daylily clump....
Gathered up DIRTYGIRL71's plants getting them ready for mailing this week!
Well, I am going to have to finish up the dianthus tomorrow.
A few other things we got done today was to take some columbines out to the woods to get a colony started out there.
I took lots of photos as you can see by the bloomers above and did quite a bit of potting up and bump ups.
It was a lovely Saturday with sun and great temps!
I need to take thse blooms over to stick it in a vase and put some of my "catches for the day" on the in the May 2009. See ya'll there!
Tomorrow I am supposed to be gettign a hosta froma gal not to far where I live and will have to start on the stella clump and the sitrona clumps of dayliles that we dug earlier today.
eYAWN~~~~! GNite! someone stole our sun!
Well, Saturday I did get much done and today hardly anything ... but I did get that hosta from a lady not to far from me. The pot it came in was huge. I am going to have to think on if I will plant that monster! I am trying to think of a way to fill it with something so as where it will not be too heavy. I would like to try to plant a Giant sunflower in it. So it will need a goodly amount of potting mix, but there has got to be away to make it not so heavy when full cuz, I mean this pot is huge and also the pot has another issue in that there is a small crack in it and it is plastic.. so.. I am having a debate. to use it at all. I need to secure the crack to prevent it from going all the way. Any suggestions welcome!
I took the rest of the pictures on the dianthus varieties and other than watering today and running errands.. hmmm that was about all I got done. WIll post the flower photos here tomorrow, but check this monster pot out!
And the last for the day, a yellow snapdragon!
I worked on some fencing earlier and I am pooped
Ok, this morning its quite sunny and nice. I have been out here dividing up those daylilies I dug out a couple days ago. Got 13 new Stella de oros out of the one clump and next I am working on the Citrona.
Moved some marigolds in yellow pots to the garden bed
Cut a couple of aussie willows to start. Need a couple replacement trees.
Need to dig some margarite daisys sometime soon.
Mowed today.
Tomorrow's weather.. oh please no showers... but they say Mostly cloudy with a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the mid 70s. Light and variable winds early in the morning becoming south around 10 mph in the late morning and afternoon. Hmm hope it will be more like today. Sunny, nice and mild!
