I want the lightning

Have you ever heard the saying:
Thunder is just a noise
Lightning does the work

For years we have made LOTS and LOTS of thunder. I didn't work.

I now want the lightning. The only thing these people understand is force and death. Let's give it to them. Everytime I think about the PLO in Israel cheering the terrorist it makes me so mad!

You are not alone, but you don't burn down the building to get rid of the rats or roaches, they will just scatter to all the neighbors. They need to be cooly exterminated, since they have already scattered, we will have to hunt them down. If we just go in like maniacs and blast everyone in sight we will be viewed just as they are, low murderers.

I have a feeling we have leaders now that will produce the lightning....unfortunately the scum will probably try to hide under women's skirts. they have to be stopped, even if innocents are lost, before they use chemicals and nukes.

Azalea, excellent analogy. I wish everyone could feel like that. It makes me sick about the stories that are coming out about random cruelty to Arab-Americans, just because of their race, not having anything to do with the particular person. Justice, not revenge.

Azalea makes a great point. My husband is in the military. I also have friends whose sons are in the Navy and Marines. I know they signed up to defend our country but before we get them involved in an all out war, I just want to be assured we get it right this time.

Before anyone goes into another country and gives back "force and death" I hope they remember this....

There are many people (men, women, children) in that country that are just as innocent as those poor people that were lost in the the terrible happenings on Tuesday, September 11, 2001 (a date that I will never forget because that is the day my own daugther turned 10...) Do you want to be just like what we think of the terrorists that had the nerve to enter our side of the world to inflict that kind of horror????
I certainly hope the answer to that question is NO!!

Sorry, Brenda. unfortunately these great "terrorists" will hide behind women's skirts in kid's schools.... I do not believe we need to spare those lives so the terrorists can hit NYC with nuclear or biological weapons next time. or maybe Toronto?

It is a sad thing to think about woman and children being killed, and I'm sure there will be ones that are innocent of the whole thing. However a lot of the children are just the next generation of terrorist. You can already see how they have been taught to hate us. It is a terrible thing that it is this way but it is. Perhaps that is why when you read in the Old Testament, that God told the Jews when they went to war to kill everyone women and children. I AM NOT suggesting that is what we do, but there is bound to be innocent blood shed. There already has been.

tiG, I keep hearing about this, but does anyone personally know of a case where it happened in their town or county?? I sure would like to know. I am wondering if it isn't another of the rumors that circulate and then we find they did not occur. I pray that is all it is. The thought that we might turn into the same thing the perpetrators are is frightening.
we have to take care of it now, it will only get worse and although we can not picture anything worse it can get worse.

Ozarksue - There were numerous reports on TV just last night of people in the US being harassed and shot at just because they appeared to be of middle-eastern descent. I was reading some blogs (weblogs - online journals) of people in the NYC area last night, and one girl who lives near "ground zero" wrote Tuesday that the muslim-run store they shop at was closed and guarded by police because the family who owns it had received numerous death threats. I can get the link and edit my post later if you'd like.

Sorry to say that there will be innocents sacrificed to irradicate terrorism. There will be caualties. But are we going to be passive casualties, or are we going to go down fighting. I know which I'll be. I look at the young men and women of our armed services, and they are young innocents also.

I tried many times to make comment about such terrible answers.... but I couldn't .... I just can't believe anyone thinks innocents should be sacrificed.... I wonder if that is how you feel about the Canadians and Americans that died this week...not all peoples in this world are rejoicing...should they die too?.... returning the same treatment makes YOU a TERRORIST!!!! think about it that way!!!

I believe there is some wisdom in not striking immediately. We must be certain that our actions are clear and focused, and not based on sheer emotion. Our wounds are still too fresh. It's hard to see clearly through the tears. But as the days pass, the solution comes more clearly into focus.

I personally feel that we should have faith in our leaders judgement, and trust that they will do it right. They are obviously of one accord as to what needs to be done, and how to do it. As Senator John McCain said in a message to the terrorists, "America is coming.....".

We need to take this time to grieve and bury our dead and comfort one another. The business of retaliation will come in due time. I think, in our hearts, we all know what America is capable of when she is stirred to wrath.

Ozarksue: My brother in Texas emailed that the mosques in the Dallas area are being vandalized.

My son married a girl that is 1/2 Iraqi. Her family is not Muslim - they are Catholic. Her father has been in this country for over 40 years, helped by the Catholic Church to escape the awful conditions in their country. He has 2 brothers that are Preists and a sister that is a Nun. My Daughter-in-law's father is in business and does get threats and harrassment everytime there is trouble in the Mideast. My eight year old grandson looks just like the kids on tv with his big beautiful brown eyes and dark hair. But he is an innocent. They all hate the violence and domination of radicals and just want to live and let live like everyone else. Like I said before,the rats need to be found and exterminated if at all possible.

I don't pretend to know the answer to this terrible situation, I only hope and pray that the experts will make the right decisions. Whatever is done I know innocents will suffer on both sides
