Hi,
I have some pineapple guava that I bought 4 weeks ago from the nursery. I am planning on getting them in the ground this weekend, but the past few days I have noticed my leaves are starting to curl. This happened with our peach tree, and found out it was dieased so we had to cut it down. Is the same thing happening with my Pineapple Guava? What do I do to fix this, is it ok to plant it? I wanted to let you know that I check the moisture of the plant to make sure it doesn't dry out.
Thanks!
Curling Leafs on Guava
Pineapple guava is not related at all to peaches so I doubt if it's the same leaf curl disease that your peach had. It might be easier to figure out what is going on with a picture--any chance you could post one?
I agree with ecrane. Peach leaf curl is actually pretty common on peach trees (and it can be treated with a fungicide that contains copper or copper sulfate). I would assume that this is something totally different.
Acca sellowiana, Pineapple Guava likes to be in full sun with lots of water. Sometimes mites are a problem. You would see them on the bottom of the leaves.
Can you show close-ups of the bottoms of the curled leaves?
