CLOSED: Anyone know what made this? Nest?

Mesilla Park, NM

I'm not sure this is the right forum for this ID, but I don't know where else to put it. I found this yesterday and some eggs, I thought it could be from those big black bees/or brown ones I can't even remember what they are called, but they are huge and carry a lot of pollen on their backs. It is made out of mud.

Here are the eggs that look like they hatched, but they look too big to be bees.. I haven't got a clue.. I got rid of the eggs, but kept the mud nest.

The ‘eggs’ look like they could be cells from a bumble bee nest - see http://tinyurl.com/c3l8v8 for an image. The mud structures likely are nests of wasps in the family Sphecidae (mud daubers, etc.) - see http://tinyurl.com/cad6xa and http://tinyurl.com/c4ul6a for examples.

Thank you, they look exactly like that. I remembered the name of the bee, I was thinking Carpenter Bees, I've seen a couple around here and also saw a bumble bee, maybe it was just a bumble bee I saw.

Thank you again. It makes me wonder why wasps nest and bumble bee eggs were together.

Opportunity - the bumblebee move in after the wasps left - a nice safe home for the bumblebees.
