Mine decided to lay their eggs under the coop. Will you be able to get them out if yours do the same?Chickens don't always recognize the amenities that we provide for them.

Bridgewater, ME

My dh said the same thing ,what if they lay there eggs under there and I said I don`t think they will,I might be wrong!!

Lodi, United States

After a few went broody and took over the nest boxes, mine are laying everywhere; including under the coop and in terracotta pots. You just never know

Lewisville, MN(Zone 4a)

They will most definitely lay under the coop.

Green!! Excellent work, and excellent pic's. You might hate painting but you look like such a natural with that paint brush in your hand. Love the Roo, he's a big boy. Great coop, can't wait to see what you do inside. You should have very high egg production with all those happy hens. Thank you so much for sharing. Haystack. I have not seen bird netting before, so what is it made out of and how big are the holes?

Bridgewater, ME

two inch holes, the netting feels like plastic,it looks like a giant fish net,its 25 ft. by 50ft.Got it off ebayStill working on the coop and run,we tore down our old barn a few years ago and kept some of the barn boards and thats what we are doing the inside with.I painted all day today the boards on the run it took me 6 hrs and tomorow I will start the apron on the run.DH got the chicken door put in tonight and is going to hook it up to a puley so we can open it from the outside.Be glad when its done, will take more pictures tomowow

Bridgewater, ME

This is what the inside will look like, our old barn boards and the new chicken door

BIG NEW HOUSE --LITTLE OLD HOUSE

Thumbnail by green04735
Richmond, TX

Wow! Really cool digs! I love the look of the old wood. I'd be spending a lot of time socializing with my chickens in such an environment.

Bridgewater, ME

I LIKE ANYTHING OLD.My house is done in the primitive decor.I would like to find some old metal feeders and waterers for the coop,I`ll keep going to tag sales and antique shops I might get lucky and not have to pay an arm and a leg for them.

Bridgewater, ME

This is taking so lone to get done!!!I am not a patience person.Still need to get apron down around run and finish inside coop and get top on run.

Bridgewater, ME

Got them moved in today, they are not using there roosts my dh made but using the poles by the windows, hope they will use the roost.
