Yup, very covetable fleece!
A surprise birth over the weekend, and I Do mean SURPRISE!
I know someone who has interest with two other people in a half million dollar Alpaca Stud....no joke.

Ginger, I can't even think of a comment for that tidbit of info!
I was told that the little 4 month old one that I saw, sold for $350 because it had a deformity. Don't know what it was, because I couldn't look away from it's darling little face. But the gal said it wouldn't affect her health or her wool.
From what I've read, it is not unreasonable to have adults sell for $15,000 to $25,000 each. Some people obviously know much more about their value, than we do.
We were visiting the farm for a field trip. She showed us her baby kit which included oxygen. One of the members asked why the oxy and the lady said that some of these babies are worth about 20K when they hit the ground.
I heard someone else mutter ...for that I'd have an ambulance standing by.....

And a vet!
WOW!! Cool. I had to look up the vicuņa. It says the wool is coveted because they can only be shorn every 3 years. Neat! But very warm and soft. :) I smell woolie socks. *sniff*sniff*
