my pond is finished

Perth,, ON(Zone 5a)

Been working on this pond for a few weeks now, was delayed by frozen ground and rain.

I found the pond kit on clearance at the hardware store, and the decking for the pond ledge and bench was purchased.

Everything else used in the pond was recycled. The lumber was scrap, stones were from the stone pile on our property, and the gravel from the greenhouse floor. The hens'n'chicks were just pulled from the garden and planted in the fountain. A length of old garden hose was threaded up through the pots for the fountain. The rubber liner left over from the pond lines the fountain. A plastic pop bottle became the fountain spillway. The boards used to skirt the fountain and bench were the wainscoting from our kitchen, and there was just enough trim to make the top edge.

The ceramic frog used to sit on the back deck.

The overall length of the pond/bench/fountain is 10 feet long by 4 feet wide and 2 feet deep. The bench/fountain measures 2 feet by 4 feet. The ledge sits about 8 inches tall and is sturdy enough to sit on.

a close up of the fountain.

The pots sit on flat rocks placed on top of a couple of bricks. The hose feeding the pots is hidden under the rocks/gravel. It took quite a bit of adjusting to get the correct combination of stones to allow the fountain to stand straight, and not wobble.

The fountain tray is about 5 inches deep overall.

The water overflows from the top pot, flowing into the next, overflowing into the next and then out the spillway....

That is a very nice looking pond. Very Unique!

I love the German Shephard statue, it is so lifelike. Very nice pond. I am considering an above ground pond to spill into my existing below ground pond. I will do as you did and use many recycled items.

giggle, the German Shephard statue is actually alive.... Lacy the Beige, and she's watching for her dog friend who lives in the subdivision behind us.

I did not notice her in the pic, was so excited about the fountain.
