Goldfinch...

I didn't see those Siskens around until I hung up this feeder. Had about 15 in and around the feeder this morning.

Thanks resin :)
dellrose, What a nice photo!
Red, Great seeing the Siskens!

A Goldfinch with the Siskens. I'm not sure I can afford to feed this group. They have almost eaten a tube full of thistle in a day.

Thanks Iris!

Red...you are so lucky to have the Siskins...but they do eat a lot!! Love those shots and the new feeder!

Red, Nice photo and know what you mean about feeding them! I have 4 feeders out ( 3 are All sunflower seeds) and one platform feeder with jelly and fruit for the mockingbirds and I'm flling them practically every other day, gets expensive! Love seeing them though!

Spent all day in the garden and couldn't get enough of the Goldfinches singing. They sound so darn cute!

Here's a pic from the end of March . I really should try to get some more now that they're all dressed up for summer!

Hi wwicks, I know what you mean,it's such a sweet sound. Nice pics everyone!

I was out taking pics of some Wax-wings when this guy lit in my little Redbud next to the holly.

The new feeder was full and he was having to wait in line. Funny how they prefer thistle. There is another feeder a few feet away with a mix of grains and black-oil sunflowers and the almost never eat it.

Aww very pretty! We have quite a few here now.

My Goldfinches disapeared a few weeks ago, the a few showed back up at the feeders. Today there is a flock of about 40 on the creek across the road. They are flying down into an empty lot and picking grit. Not many have ventured across the street to my feeders.

I have close to a couple dozen goldfinches right now. But I have to quit feeding the thistle soon because of the expense. I am trying to enjoy them while I can. I also love hearing them singing up in the trees while I am out in my garden. Wouldn't this world be so dull and quiet without our feathered friends to keep us company?
