Found a large spider in our pool next to some hedges. Bright, candy-red all over, except for the yellow circle on its abdomen. It didn't look like any picture I've found. Is this poisonous?

You really need to post an image for a positive i.d. - That aside, with the exception of one small family (Uloboridae), all spiders are venomous. However, only a very few species are truly dangerous to humans, and from your description, it is highly unlikely that yours would fall into that category.
