I can't believe it.

A cabbage looper moth came in through a crack around the edges of a closed storm window, flew clear across the house and made a beeline (mothline?) to my tray of okra seedlings that just sprouted a couple days ago. It was easy to catch by hand as it was very busy trying to find a good spot to lay eggs. But sheesh! Between this and the squirrels and grackles at the bird feeder (we're switching feed and maybe buying a new feeder) and the 2 pregnant groundhogs we've caught in the past 2 weeks (and spotted a third) - this is the year I dub "The Year of the Pest."
Just thought I'd share. Dumbfounding day.

Incredible - darn varmints!!!

I fought a groundhog infestation on and off for a decade in NJ. I won all the battles by filling their holes in. They pretty much won the war by eating what they wanted and digging new holes in less convenient places.

I also fought hoards of marauding deer. I'd clip garlic clips or soap bags to edible plants. The deer would move them so they didn't spoil their appetite! I'd find them fifty ft from where I placed them. The tide turned when we put up a 6 ft wood fence and planted roses inside. After a few trips over the fence and into the thorny roses, deer decided to find less painful places to eat dinner.

That's one determined moth!
