Greetings All!
I am a new member, and new to seeds. I finally have something (hopefully new to you) to contribute!
I came across a method for Morning Glory seeds that works.
Take a brown paper bag (any size would do... the smaller the better). I use ones that are smaller than lunch sacks. Fold the bag out, all the way around so it is not so tall and creates the size pot you want. Coat the inside of the bag with a light coat of canola oil (Pam might work, I haven't tried it). Then add your dirt, seeds, water, and cover with plastic wrap. You can secure the wrap by using paper clips, clothes pins, whatever you have. Once you are ready to transplant, you just plant the whole bag that way you are not disturbing the roots.
I am fixing to sow some more inside and am going to use the Pam method. Will post updates and pictures next time - lol!

Success! Germinating & transplanting of Morning Glory seed
Hi sunny day girl, I am new also and just learning to navigate arount the site. I purchased some Vigna Caracalla seeds from Summer Hill Seeds and am reading a lot about them being difficult to germinate. there were only five seeds in the pack so I will try your 'baggie' method on one or two and see how I get on. I am in zone 11.
Hi Cocoloba!
Let us know how it goes with your seeds! I also just read in a gardening book that you can wrap/fold several layers of newspaper around a can, shaping it into a pot, and place a piece of twine around it to secure it's shape. Then slide it off and coat or spray the inside of your newspaper pot with canola oil.
SunnyDay - I just use peat pellets for my MGs. Does the paper add a benefit?
Hi 2ndChance.
The only benefit would be that you have more room for the roots to spread before planting outdoors. In a larger bag, you can put 3+ in a bag and then plant as a row.
