Please post here what kind of food you are bringing to the roundup. This way we can make sure the essentials are covered and avoid multiples of one item. I will bring plates and plastic cutlery. In the past it has been a 'bring your own drink' event. Please no alcohol. We will have access to the kitchen area, so foods that need warming are welcome.
Thanks, Kim
CS Roundup - May 9, 2009 - Food
IF I come and I stress the "IF" because I want to come to the RU but Jim won't let me come alone and won't come w/me, I will be bringing some kind of chicken or shrimp salad - not the sandwich kind but one where you eat w/a fork. Also, some kind of bread and probably a dessert.
Ann
ps. As posted, I will be coming and bringing one of our daughters.

Delete the dessert part. Just a really excellent shrimp salad and some crackers to go w/it.

I will bring a dessert.
We'll bring some excellent smoked brisket and a veggie Lee & Dee
I will bring a fresh ham and some kind of salad.
just bumping this up!
I will bring oriental cole slaw, large.
Put us down for a double batch of Corn Cassarole & a double batch of Hash Brown Cassarole. (Don't ask me, it is a WI thing)
:~)
I need to find a room for the night.
I think I'll bring a couple of big bags of chips and a couple of jugs of tea, some ice, cups...
... unless I think of something better between now and then.
I'll bring a dessert, probably blackberry cobbler.
I will bring a dessert.
We were planning on bringing our regular Sopapilla Cheesecake. From the few postings here, it almost looks like we have more deserts coming than main dishes. Should we change it to some vegetable dish that would go with Lee's " excellent brisket"? I was thinking like a green bean casserole. Floor is open for opinions Jim
We were thinkin' either potato salad or beans as our veggie to go w/the brisket - matters not to us....we like 'em both!! :~)
Can't go wrong with a good pot of red beans, Lee. We have a green bean casserole with a Tobasco spiced tomato sauce base and crumbled bacon.
I took the liberty of summarizing what everyone has said he/she is bringing. I'll try to keep up with additions and changes. Looks like we are going to have a feast!

I'll also pack an extra roll of paper towels.
We've had a few cancel and a few changes to the food list, so please check to see if I have you down correctly.
I am coming with DH (Tom) and will bring deer sausage of some sort.
We will need a room too. I would like to stay somewhere Fri night so we can be on time for a change. Are we meeting for breakfast again?
I'll bring fruit and crackers.
Ooooh, no sopapilla cheesecake! Sniff, sniff!!
Smock says we have to have beans to go w/Lee's brisket. So, he's bring a crock pot of 'baked' beans.

I will bring some bottled water and a loaf of bread or rolls.
My mom will be bringing bbq chicken wings and cream puffs.
I don't think I got any sopapilla cheesecake last time.:(
All right. Enough whinin', (SIGHHH), I'll make a Sopapilla Cheesecake as well. The things a guy will go through when the girls get all sniffly. See ya Saturday Jim
OK my SIL will NOT be coming with me now... she's picking up my other SIL at the airport.
That's ok - it'll give me more room for plants!!! LOL
Heyyyy... we need to start whining for chocolate now! Maybe Jim will bring some of that, too!
oh please please please bring chocolate for us. I promise to try to be a good girl. pretty please with sugar on top?
I got caught in a weak moment. Maybe somebody will bring you some Hershey bars or maybe a bag of Kisses. Besides, there's the issue of room on the way to CS :)
I would take a chocolate plant. Every one I get dies. Ike killed it this time :O(
I will bring something chocolate.
Charlene
As hot as they are predicting it might end up being chocolate syrup! Lol
I will bring a cucumber/tomato salad and cheese and crackers.
Trishann
I will be bringing Breakfast Radish
In advance, here is the recipe
On a slice of baguette some herb butter is spread. A slice of radish is placed on top.
The herb butter is made of
1 part Butter
2 parts Cream Cheese
Seasoned with Parsley, Rosemary, Thyme, Oregano and Garlic Chives
The Rosemary, Thyme and Oregano are ground in a mortar with salt.
Bob
Alright! The breakfast radish!
Hey Bob...by the way, if you have extra irises I have a friend I am gathering plants for. He is just starting out and isn't picky.
Kim, I'm bringing some extra cannas he can have. They are Richard Wallace, yellow
Great! Thanks Mary Lee!
All the food was wonderful! The oriental slaw was quite different from anything I make. Geneva, will you share the recipe?
Who brought the yummy chocolate dessert that reminds me of Mississippi Mud, but much better? I need the recipe!!!

Was the slaw that stuff with the noodles in it? That was really good stuff.:)
And I finally got a taste of sopapilla cheesecake, so now I know why everybody was raving about it. It was very good. Thanks Jim.
