A thread for just about anything that is going on in your garden, or whatever plants you felt like taking pictures of!! I hope that everyone joins in from anywhere, since we're all Northwest of somewhere!
So, I'll start this off with a picture of a small area of the shady part of my yard. None of the hostas or ferns are up enough yet to be seen.

Thanks for coming over so quick! lol. Yes that's definitely a pulmonaria! and If I were on top of my game, I would know which one too! That sort of smokey blue is particular to just one or two specific kinds!
Georgeous Tulip!!!!! I love it. Do you think that I get enough sun in the shady spot that I pictured above to grow it there? that's where I like to plant variegated things to brighten up the area. The corner there actually get's bright filtered light most all day, but direct sun for only about 3 hours.

most definitely! so is anemone coronia the same as anemone De Caen? There's a place near one of my jobs that is carrying 4" containers (my favorite size!!) of anemone coronia "harmony mix' and 'mona lisa mix' . They don't have any that are quite as blue as some of the ones that you've posted before, but they have some that are a royal blue similar to yours above. I had to get two when I saw them!!
red. the pulmonaria is called Majeste. Found the tag near my Hellabore...go figure.
tulipworld has them on sale now. They have bloomed in the summer for me. Much more cost effective this way and only a small whole to dig.

I have also planted the st. bridget and the blandas.
These are the red de caens. Very pretty but harder to photograph!
I have the P. Majeste!!! It is my absolute favorite. But, mine are a little darker in flower color. I suppose that could be because they get very little light.
Ok... that makes some sense now. I asked at the place that I found the other anemones at if they had heard of de caens and could maybe order it/them. They said no, but that they were trying to get in St. bridget. lol I hope that they do soon.
I think that your anemone blanda and those I took a pic of are the same. I want a patch like that one. My patches of them are still very small.
BeaHive that blue blue blue anemone is remarkable. The color is unbeatable, but then blue is my favorite color. Really stunning!
redchick, is the erythonium related to a day lily? It sure is pretty.
RC, great that you finally started the thread, and I will only sulk for a little while that you didn't use my cool name :). A brainstorm like that only comes once in a long while you know!!
I don't have pics to send yet as I spend all day taking advantage of the NON rain...(was my day off (I work 10's) and was sulking that this was supposed to be the worst day of the week. Lo and behold, after a morning shower it was 50's and dry until the end of the day) but have really enjoyed the first few.
You guys are a little ahead of me still with the exception of Mortswife....Snow, Still????? SENDING HUGE SUNBEAM THOUGHTS YOUR DIRECTION!!!
What can I do? I live at the foot of the mountain.
Beautiful pictures everyone!!! Colors are incredible!
Rj.... Sorry, I will definitely try to preserve the powers of your brainstorm for the next thread!!!
Mortswife, One would think that they were related wouldn't they! Hemerocallis are in their own family. Erythronium are in the Lilly family. However, I believe that they are in the same 'order', which would make them something like third cousins to one another. :-p probably more than you ever wanted to know. However, I have seen some sources put daylilies in lilly family, making them first cousins! Probably more info than you ever wanted to know!
That does look like a day lily. I know I'm allergic to Tiger Lilies. I discovered that one day in the funeral home when we had every arrangement with lilies in them. I really got an allergic attack. And they don't smell that great either.
In general, erythronium are not well known for causing allergy issues as lilies and day lilies are. could have a lot to do with their size and stature though. They're cute, short, little lilies.
That one should have been supported. To late now it would smother the new growth from the center. There is probably new growth under all the blossoms also.
It's the saddest looking hellebore ever. To top it off it is located in the strip of ground between the sidewalk and the street. Poor thing!
Now, should that clump have been divided in the fall, or just supported? I've never had hellebores, but that just seems to need some loving.
Love the first photo posted - a very pretty drive!
Beehive, what's the name of that first blue anemone? Stunning! As is tulip New Design. Where did you pick that up. It's a ' must have'!
Gwendelou.. Here is a link I posted earlier on the Blue anemones i grow.
