Umm, what could these things be that the Ladybug is munching happily on? :o I didn't notice them until I looked at the picture. Aren't aphids green? This is a new cherry tree we just planted.

I believe that those objects are extra-floral (or extrafloral) nectaries; plant structures that are attractive to insects such as ants (or in this case, lady beetles) that may be useful to the plant in combating pests that otherwise would be harmful to the plant. Oh! What a relief! I do believe that is it Suunto. I could have sworn there was legs on those things. I am surprised that a ladybug likes them. lol Thanks!
