Wren, to add to Beadmom's goat ID list, if they are mostly white with brown patches, and pretty stocky looking, with hanging down ears, then they are boer goats (meat goats).

These are Nubians - large goat, long ears that hang down. Dairy goats. Mixed colors but often mostly brown.

Small goats - like about knee high - are either pygmy or Nigerian Dwarf and it's a little hard to tell the difference sometimes.

In this picture, the three goats in front of me (ignore sheep in back) are 2 pygmies (to the left) and a Nigerian dwarf to the right (the one I'm feeding).

My goat stands on the back of the donkeys all the time... it's a traffic stopper....almost as good stopper as when the two BOYS are......uhhhh hummmmm-ing in the front yard....
