Hello - I'm a new gardener. I just planted my first tomato seeds indoors about 3 1/2 weeks ago. They took off so fast I had to re-pot them in larger pots, and could only find Ferry-Morse peats pots at my local store. They plants are doing great, but I'm starting to see white mold growing on the outside of the pots. Is this a good or bad thing?
Thanks for your help. :)
Mold on my peat pots
CherryDarling - I read a few months back in one of the propagation threads about using hydrogen peroxide (standard drug store stuff) diluted with water. I believe it's 1 part peroxide to 10 parts water in a sprayer. I had some cuttings that were developing mold from being under a plastic tent and it worked very well. And I sprayed it on the cuttings as well. Maybe you could focus the spray on the pots where the mold is to test if for yourself.
Maybe you could try a fan for more air circulation, that might help :>)
