Early April Pictures

Thanks for the info on the clips. I need to order the clips and coir from Bob, hopefully tomorrow.
Now I am going to ask a dumb question, apparently I missed something. What are the straw bales for?

Check this out http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/f/strawbale/all/ but don't stay away from the "The Self-contained Box Gardens forum" too long. (smile)

Another something I wanted to try since I retired and have plenty of time to tend to it to see if I can make it work for my style of gardening.

Edit: I will add more drop-down twine as the suckers grow out. Rather than remove suckers, I prefer to just provide the plant with more food and water. By not removing the suckers the tomatoes will have more foliage to shade the fruit from the scalding hot sun.

Bob: Those are some very nice looking plants and veggies. I like the way you have them clipped and supported from above, that is neat. The toms in my 5 gallon grow bags are doing wonderful and so are the ones in my lay flat bags, but, I was wondering, will the 3 toms per flat bag do ok in that? It doesn't seem deep enough for toms? Have you used lay flat bags for toms before? Can I order clips of the instagarden or where and what kind of twine are you using?

I was told by my importer that he sells the layflat bags to greenhouse tomato growers in Canada and they plant 3 tomato plants per bag. Give it a try and see. I only use the 5 gallon grow bags for tomatoes. I will try the layflat bags for you.For the clips you need a overhead support . I buy regular twine at HD. Clips are at IG.

Jerry, Thanks for the measurements. I will be setting the garden up tomorrow.
