got a new toy and i love it.Gardener's Lever Loops, made by Bosmere in the UK. shipped from the US , Bosmere in Concord, NC.
really light little loops that squeeze open and can clip right on vines to hold them to a support. package of 50. very inexpensive...few dollars for a pk of 50.
very light and easy to use, dark green and inconspicuous.
i have damaged vines tying them in and so sometimes do not train the clem as much as i should. and i hate the look of some ties.....that is officially over. as i walked the gardens today nipping and tucking for a couple of hours, i started using them on older wood and very vigorous new vines for best placement.
google "gardeners lever loops", looks like several places to get them. reuseable, easy to remove too.
i ordered 3 pkgs of 50 (about 12 $$ for all 150 of them) and wish i had ordered more.
Gardener's Lever Loops
What a great idea! I love those things....I will have to keep my eyes open for those in case I find them around here....I would certainly buy them....Thanks Guru!
first time gardener supply or something like that. after using them today i googled and found them on a place called "horticulture guy"!!!!!
they are really great. i was surprised how well they worked. so gentle.
took a pic this morning of a plant with a gardener level loop in place. this is a clem i usually don't tie in too much, but sometimes later in season it flops. this is training it to behave from the get go!
you can see how unobtrusive the clips are, and will not damage even a tender green vine. (these vines are a little woody)
I have bought those in the past from LeeValley dont know if they still sell them,.
Clever little doo-dads for the garden. I think I've seen them advertised in gardening magazines before. Gardener's Supply Company comes to mind.
yes , i googled them and there are a lot of places to get them. i paid 3.95 for 50. if anybody seems a better price let me know, altho i ordered 150 and then after i tried them ordered another 300 of them (6 pks). i love them already.
love the reuseable part too.
Thanks so much for this suggestion. I've been using cup hooks with spring closings. These Lever Loops are much better looking.
i am still in love with the lever loops. they are really helping me. no more loopy ties, bright green plastic and worse showing. and the vines do not seem to mind them. very gently on a tender vine. there are several sizes within the pkgs i noticed, but i just grab any one, they are all plenty big to handle a clem vine.
Thanks for this info. I had missed this thread before, but just ordered some of the loops. They look just like the loops that came on the climbing rose I bought the other day... and I thought at the time how handy they looked. =)
i gotta tell you I LOVE them. i grab them every day right now and i am very very happy with them. they are so gentle and the vines never seem to mind!
Well, I'm impressed. I ordered these on the 26th and they already arrived today. I just finished using them on some climbing roses. Very nice!
I ordered these as well CG based on your recommendation and I also love them! Great reco!
so glad you guys have gotten them. my clems love them and i am having better training results already with some of the early growth vines....can't wait to be entering bloom time.
Hi -- where is everyone ordering these from? Would love to get some too. Thanks!
Well, just got these from Horticulture Guy. Thanks again!
I ordered mine from Horticulture Guy's Garden Supply. I think CG (?) mentioned that when googling lever loops this site came up, so I tried it as well. They are called Lever Plant Loop Ties on this site and cost $3.95 for 50 (assorted sizes). They are really handy! Thanks so much CG!
Yep, I also got them from Horticulture Guy. I hope all of you have left your feedback on Garden Watchdog for him... I was pleased with how quick and smooth the transaction went.
google garden lever loops and see what pops up, maybe somewhere you have ordered from. i have ordered them from a couple of places as after i received my first batch, i immediately ordered more as i knew it was a winner. so much better than harsh ties and , reuseable after pruning too.
yep that's the on e i ordered from the second time and very pleased.
had to re order again i am using so many, but the clems are so viforous this year, they are like a rod on steroids.
used the horticulture guy, ordered them yesterday ,they have already shipped. he is oos now but has more coming in this week.
love these little helpers!
Out of stock... haha! You should tell him to give you a discount because you sent us all to him! =)
funny. i am so grateful, have you seen his price? it is 2 to 3 $ cheaper than anywhere else. 3.95 for 50 of them. i have a lot of big plants and they are sucking them up. but i will remove them when i prune for sure and reuse.
he rocks, whoever he is!
did you get your snow queens?
I didn't realize anybody else even had the Lever Loops... he was the first link I found, so I ordered them.
I think I'm just going to get 'Snow Queen' from Donahue's. I called the nursery and they won't do mail order, and since I already have quite a few nice, larger clems, I think it's okay if 'Snow Queen' starts out small. Their manager told me to wait until 7-10 after planting to let them know if any of their plants had issues, so I'll place my order then if I need any others replaced. So far, they're all responding beautifully. The only one to have even a yellowing leaf (other than from shoots that were completely severed) was from Joy Creek... so far so good! I'm surprised that there hasn't been more shock exhibited after such long distances for shipping. There are no growers close to us, so everything came quite a ways to get to me.
clem roots are amazing. lever loops are amazing. mother nature is amazing.it's all good!
Guru, Bosmere (the manufacturer) sells the loops at their own website. They also have what they are calling 3/4 ", $4.00 for 1000. They sound tiny, but might be useful for joining skinny clem stems together.
Robin, the pricing on that site makes no sense! They have a pack of 30 of the 3/4" and 20 of the 1" (total of 50 loops) listed for $4.00... and then right below that they have a pack of 1000 of the 3/4" for $3.55?!?!?! That doesn't sound correct... I ordered one of each to see what shows up at my door.
I also ordered the lever loops from Horticulture Guy. They were scheduled to be shipped today. By the way, Guru, I found a 50-pound bag of crushed oyster shells today. It was at the feed and seed store. I never dreamed I'd be paying for oyster shells with as many oysters that we've opened in our back yard, but I have no way of crushing them. Hopefully, it will keep the slugs away.
Bliss, good for you. I never even noticed that! I like your sense of adventure. Be sure to let us know what you get!
1000 for 4$..yikes...i gotta switch vendors if true. let us know what you get , if they are the same thing. the bag of mixed sizes has worked well for me, but i could order them separately for sure if good savings. and these are imported or made by bosmere, so probably same thing.
the feed store is my new place to shop too!
does anyone have the item number on the bosmere site for the lever loops? i can 't find them, just went on there and went thru most sections. site is a little slow, but looks like some good buys on various items. could not find the lever loops. thanks.
It's E200. Did a search for keyword "loop".
I placed an order with them just for the two different Lever Loops products on the site. Supposedly, one pack will have 50 Lever Loops for $4.00 (30 of 3/4" and 20 of 1" loops), and the other pack will have 1000 Lever Loops for $3.50 (1000 of 3/4" loops). Of course, this makes no sense at all. The shipping cost to me was an additional $8.74... for a total bill of $16.29 for these two packs. There was also a note on my confirmation that my order would be shipped in 3-5 business days, even though the home page on their website clearly states at the very top of the page "All orders shipped within 2 working days". Sooooo, we'll see how this turns out. I'm a bit skeptical.
the hort guy is 50 for 3.95 so i 'll stick with him till ya see what ya got. i am happy with his price and he ships out fast. if ya got 1000 for same price, seems like something is off, but you go gal. keep su posted. love the lever loops. i am completely our have used about 300 or more betweeen my 2 orders this spring. . hoping 3rd order comes tomorrow.
love em. i even took some branches of philidelphius on each side of a path and hooked together an arch of branches. that is why i ran out. love em.
I received this email back today from Bosmere... yep, the pricing on the website is incorrect. Seems like they have lots of mistakes on their site... from prices to delivery time.
Hello,
I am afraid there is a problem with your website order. Unfortunately, when we received your order it brought to my bosses attention that the people managing our website had incorrectly priced the E202 (bag of 1,000 3/4 inch level loops). These should actually be priced at approximately $33.00 dollars. If you still wish to order this product at the correct price (we would charge $33.00) then as an apology for our error and your inconvenience we would be happy to ship your order freight free.
Please let us know if you wish to continue with the order with the pricing difference and no freight or if you wish to cancel the E202 from your order.
Again, we apologize for the error.
Carole Zimmer
I find it really odd that they say the price should be "approximately $33.00".... but free shipping sounds like a good deal to me, so I'll go ahead and do it. The smaller bag comes out to 8 cents per loop; the larger quantity comes out to 3.3 cents per loop. Granted, I'll still have to order the multipacks for my roses, but the smaller loops are a fine size for the clems.

is a level loop the same thing as as a lever loop? 33 for 1k is a good price. a great price. keep us posted.
Yep, "level" was a typo. They wrote back that my order will ship tomorrow, coming from South Carolina... so I should get it by early next week. I'll let you know if the loops I receive are the same as what I received from Horticulture Guy. =)
if so , i will order some too. i got 5 bags today, the last the hort guy had. 250 count. i was going to order 10 more bags, will do the 1k if your order is ok as soon as you get yours. then i prob won't need any more even next year. i plan to take them off as i prune or whatever.
you rock, you rule, your cool!
