Hi all,
I sowed a bunch of vinca seeds from swallowtail gardens on 2/21. I got 100% germination, and they all look healthy. I sowed 4 different varieties, all under the same conditions.
- Heat Wave Red
- Mediterranean White
- Cora Deep Lavender
- Cora Punch
The heat wave reds, mediterranean white, and cora punches are all about the same size. The leaves are still only about 1/4 - 1/2 inch long, and there are only 2-3 sets of leaves. The cora deep lavender are huge. The leaves are about 2 inches long, and I've had to pot them up into bigger pots a few times. They also have flower buds on them. I've treated these seedlings all the same. (Other than having to pot up the much bigger cora deep lavender). Why are the CDL's growing so much more quickly than the other guys. And, does it usually take a long time for vinca to grow? I feel like the other varieties have been taking a really long time to get going. The leaves look healthy (nice dark green), but really small. Any thoughts?
