cerinthe... a success story!

Champion, AB(Zone 3b)

Hi I've had cerinthe seeds sitting on wet paper towels for two weeks + and only two of them had sprouted. I was going to throw them out but thought one more try...so I hauled out the nail clippers and snipped the pointed end a tiny bit. A day later 5 of them had sprouted and three more today. Glad I didn't pitch them.

Albertarosey,
What temp did you keep your seeds at?

Champion, AB(Zone 3b)

mjsponies I'm not sure about the temp. I put flat bottomed containers with tight lids on top of my grow light where it is warm to the touch but not hot then I move them off to the side a little where it is not as warm and that's where they go. All very scientific. So sorry I don't know the exact temp.

AlbertaRosey I direct sow certinthe in mid-May for July blooms. I find it doesn't get as floppy as when I started it indoors.

Are you going to Spruce Meadows tomorrow (sunday)? We could meet for coffee or something.
