Air Potatoes

Dallas, TX

Pat If I had another car ... I would have left it there! The first (theirs) had the car for two weeks and could noy tell me when it would be ready. I ask to take it my mechanic and it was ready in two days. Problem was the first mechanic did not want to be bothered with it, because of all the rust, he was glad I came and got it.

Sylvia, is it possible your car came from one of the flood areas? If so the dealership is in BIG TROUBLE. I don't know how to find out but maybe someone else does.

There is more than one way to determine but consistent rust sure sounds suspicious.

Chirs ... so good to hear from you. :)
I dont know Chris, how do you tell? both of the Mechanics suggested that. I am going through these papers and see what I can find.

Years ago, we bought a truck that had been in a flood at the Houston airport. The title was marked as "salvage" and we were made aware of its' history. It never had rust tho so I would suspect your rust means sea water. Either from a hurricane or the previous owners spent lots of time running the beaches. I believe there are sites that for a fee will check the VIN number to see if it had previous damage reported. Car Fax is one I think. I just don't know what they charge for the service. Good luck.

Sylvia, you can do a free search on CarFax to see if your vehicle has a history. If it does, it might be worth the $29.95 fee to buy the complete report and go back to the dealer who sold it to you. http://www.carfax.com/cfm/general_check.cfm

Thanks Guys ... I shall do this!

Smockette;
Just got back home from the RU. As usual I brought more plants than what I can plant in a day. The wind chimes I took for a door prize were really appreciated.
Also I really appreciate what you and Sylvia have done, to get some Air potatoes together. I'm sure you had fun doing it but just want you to know I really appreciate y'all!

I went where I knew some use to grow and found some plants but no potatoes. Just have't went back with my shovel yet. Down the road a ways is some beautiful crinums I have been getting the seeds off of. I got a few seedlings and plan to take my shovel back there. lol

I also found a beautiful oleander on another property and brought home cuttings. It is a medium pink color. I love the doubles. Looking for a double red and a double light pink now.

Well, it is starting to cool down fr the 100+ we have had all summer. I am starting to see some babies that I will be collecting to send to ya'll.
Going to Sylvia's Sat & to the N Tx RU on Sunday. I will get her to post some pix of your future babies.
Remember that one that I told you was somewhere in my car (May 17, up above), will I found it. Or should I say, it found me. It got down in the track that my seat moves on. That's why I couldn't find it.
Well, we took my CR-V to Florida @ the end of July. Moving things around so 3 of us could get everything in for the trip, here comes this stem!!!
It had grown almost 3' long & was coming up between the bucket seats, looking for sun. Crazy, huh?
Will have Sylvia send you a pix of it! ROTFLOL
:~)

LOL It was looking for a home. Good thing they don't grow too fast or it could have attacked you.
I planted two in a container by the same tree. Got a little taller than before, also the leaves were larger.
But no babies. I am beginning to think they just don't like it this far into the winter wonder land.
The ones I planted in full sun, are smaller in every way. I think it would be safe to plant kudzu up here.
It would certainly get cold feet.
I think it would be fun to go to the N TX RU but I have too many things holding me back.
I would however like to make a trip down to TX coast some time after the first of the year. I have a large bill at Menard's, I am trying to get it paid by the end of Dec. It is a no interest no payments due until Jan. But if I fail, then I gotta pay all that interest. Don't want that to happen.
