As some of you know, I conduct an email course for freelance writing.
One of my students (who lurks here at DG) just got an assignment from the Farmer's Almanac Gardening Companion. She is, as you can imagine, walking on air. And I couldn't be more pleased. This is her second major gardening assignment in just a few months (first came from Birds & Blooms). Shows what you can do with native talent and a little direction.
Attagirl, Betty!
Proud As A Peacock
Congratulations Betty! What fantastic accomplishments!
Way to hone those literary skills - will be looking for the article...Brook (aka "teach") - no wonder you are such a brain :)
Very nice..congrats to teacher and student :)
Tish
Wow! That is great, Betty! And Chooch- I can see you puffing out your chest from here!
Trish
Huh?
How'd Chooch get involved?
Congratulations Betty! What terrific news! I love the Farmer's Almanac publications and use them to plant with the MOON, naturally. ;)
Brook, you are, indeed, a man of many talents!
Pete2
Hey Betty~~~~(me waving) that is great! You have a good teacher! Lisa
Brook- Trish has little ones, speaking from expirence, sometimes you get "brain-clouds". LOL!! Lisa
Geez, Brook, I'm soooo sorry! I'll just go hide for the rest of the day and try to get my keep dislogded from the back of my throat!!!
Anyway, good for you!
(sheepish grin),
Trish
Where's that Edit Feature, Dave!!?!! ;-)
Dave- WHERE IS that edit feature?!?!?!
Was supposed to read: "try to get my knee"- good grief!
Trish
I knew that! :-)
Trish, they say when you find yourself in a hole, quit digging (you can't dig your way out.) Me, I've never had the presence of mind to heed that advice when I'm IN the hole....so I can certainly relate!!!!!
Brook, let me add my congratulations - that must feel ALMOST as good as when your own child has a major accomplishment! Thanks for sharing it with us.....
Hi Trish ...leave me out of this subject ...honestLy I have nothing to do with it !!!!:)) hee hee hee :) We all love you so Rock On TRISH!!
You got it right, go-vols. It's been more years than I care to think about since I felt the rush of a by-line. Now I relive it vicariously whenever any of my students sell a story.
Bravo Buddy!! As someone who dabbled in journalism herself, I can appreciate the pride you and your student must be feeling!!
I know this compliment is a bit late, but I just got around to reading this thread.
You're a man of many talents Brook! I'm glad I can call you my friend!
