I was wondering what kind of spider this is that was looking in my eyes at my desk?
Scared me real good ;)

It might have been one of the nursery web spiders, family Pisauridae:

Claypa is correct; it most likely is the very common species, Pisaurina mira - see ttp://tinyurl.com/d5l3r9
Pisaurids basically are harmlress to humans, but large specimens can deliver a painful bite if mishandled.
