I have had these tiger lilies for years and they have always been trouble-free. However this spring the foliage has yellow streaks and is somewhat distorted. Is this normal or do they have a virus? If they're infected I'll need to get rid of them ASAP before it spreads.
Is this a virus?
Sometimes weird weather, especially cold weather in the spring, can produce this. Since this is the first time you have noticed this, and it appears that all (or most) of the srouts seem to have this, I am guessing it is weather related rather than pathogen. I think I would take a "wait and see" attitude for this. While the affected leaves won't clear up, newer leaves will probably be fine if the weather is settled and it is not virus related.
Lefty do you spray for fungus on your lilies? If so how much and when?
I have never used a fungicide on any of my lilies. They do sometimes contract a little botrydis, but I suspect the problem is not as bad as it is farther east where high humidity is more prolonged. Sanitation and stress avoidance can go a long way in thwarting diseases and insects. All of my lilies are mulched, all year long.
It does baffle me, however, how so many people apparently run into disease problems with lily seedlings inside the house. Admittedly, I do not grow a lot of lilies inside, but still, I have never run into problems in all the years I've been at it.
