Curling leaves

Chicago, IL(Zone 5b)

Hi all -

I have some dianthus seedlings that I potted up yesterday and noticed this afternoon that some of their leaves are curling under a bit - is this due to over watering? I have been trying to keep them on the dry side and only bottom water. Thanks!

I'm wondering the same thing except my taller, older seedlings are the ones with a few curling leaves. I'm wondering if it is a sign of needing to be repotted? I'll be watching this thread for replies.

Can you post a picture?

I'm going to take a guess & say it's transplant shock. They should bounce back. I did have some seedlings that I hadn't watered all the way thru...the bottom half of the cell was bone dry. The leaves curled down & I pulled one out of the tray to see what was going on. I have been making sure to deep water now.

Ahhh, I think you're right. I'd put a picture but have misplaced my camera. They seem to be doing better now and are curling much less. They look nice and green (not yellow) so I didn't think it was because of overwatering. Thanks guys!
