ARLINGTON TX RU *April 5th * FINAL HEAD COUNT THREAD
Great job to Sheila and Herman!!! (applaudes)
We all had a great time, loved seeing everyone!
Hats off to Sheila and Herman for all their hard work and preparation.
It was such a great day, even with the wind and cool temps! So much fun to gather with fellow gardening friends and "talk shop".
I had a great time. Thank you all for your generosity and giving my frogs good homes. I have a lot of plants to plant this week. Good thing I'm on vacation. It was a pleasure meeting all of you. I look forward to the next one.
Thanks again,
Shelly
We had a wonderful time, it was great to see everyone, wish it hadn't been so windy.
The food was great as usual, and the prizes were a lot of fun. I came home with a lot of neat plants, it will be fun to see them come into bloom.
Sheila and Herman did a great job of coordinating everything, it is a lot of work but very much worth it.
Josephine.
Sorry I had to hit and run before everyone got there. Had to go back to my sons house as he picked up the wrong keys. His were home and her car was blocking the garage door. By the time we got there it was time to go to the soccer game. The layout was great.
I know I missed a great time and miss seeing everyone and meeting new faces.
Art and Linda had a great time. Thanks to all responsible for putting the event together. You did a great job!
Marcia and I really enjoyed the RU. Nice meeting all of you.
Food was great.
Thanks Sheila and Herman for the hard work.
Chuck & Marcia
What a great RU! I really enjoyed the company. Sheila and Herman ...It was organized so well! Thank you Josephine for searching for the rightful owner of the mitten. And Frank for the animated number calling.
Hope you all will forgive the cold Canadian wind that almost ruined the gift exchange.
And who is the mindreader who gave me David Phlox? I was thinking of putting it on my want list. I couldn't believe my eyes!
Anna
Thanks for the comments....but especially for the super turn out!! All the cold and wind couldn't keep you away!! Not that a lot of you didn't consider it I am sure!! LOL!
We came out with $16 over the cost of the park rental. So once again we were able to recoop the $100 rental cost. If no one has objections, I would like to use the money left to purchase name tags for the RU in October. I bought 80 this year and as you know we had about 60 today. It was also suggested we use tickets for the door prize drawing next time, which shouldn't be too costly, so we may manage both.
Many many thanks go to Frank and Josephine for the table signs, helping to unload plants, answer questions, the door prize drawing, helping to load up, and clean up food items left behind.
All would have been so much easier if we had not had the wind....so who ever brought it ...please leave it home next year!!
Great friends...great food...great plants...and greatly tired!! I will post pictures tomorrow. I almost have them all named and ready!!
Sheila
My first RU! It was very fun (despite that wind). At least I know what to expect for the next one... Still not sure how you grew so many seeds and rootings this winter. Do some of you have greenhouses?
Thank you so much- Sheila & Herman, Josephine & Frank, and Charlene for the hard work and plants. Thanks to everybody for just being there so I could get a chance to meet you.
Sheila- I can't believe you went home and started working on photo identification. Talk about dedication! I'm so glad you are doing that. It will especially be nice for us newbies to get to know everyone.
So glad I went yesterday.
Carole
Thank You Sheila & Herman for such a wonderful round up. This was my first one to attend. I can't remember when I've met such a nice group of people. Thanks to all that were so generous with the plants. Thank you Old Mans Darlin for the cute frogs I will enjoy them.
Sheila/Herman and Josephine/Frank -- your hard work paid off in a beautifully-run plant swap. I had a wonderful time (even with that nasty wind a'blowing) and am already looking forward to the next one.
Carla (aka Loonie)
I also had a great time. It was good to see everyone, and as always, food and plants were both yummy. Many thanks to those who put in so much hard work to organize it.
OK everyone....I finally got the pictures and names loaded. I put them on the Round Up Picture forum were we can always find it. I will be posting some others on the TX Gardening forum later also.
But these are the main ones with IDs and names....enjoy!!!
