Pretty babies, angie. Actually, I think they're preschoolers now.

Though most of mine have sprouted, they're not growing in our cold temps. They're tiny.

hi karen, they'll perk up once it gets warmer....i'm looking to set alot of these out in a couple weeks....april 2nd and 3rd and the w/e of april 10th are good moon/astrology signs to transplant ...

I know they'll grow, they always do. They need more warmth though.

I won't be transplanting them for a while- they're tiny, all in cotyledon stage. Some are downright microscopic.

Now hush up about that you're making me jealous. ;-)

That kale (is it?) in the top right looks big enough to plant out to me...... mine was tinier than that when I did on the 20th.

Kylaluaz--no that's yarrow, so i'll probably let that get about 3-4" before i set it out...i hope it blooms..

Angiegr,
I'm just a little north of you in sw Georgia. I have sprouted just a few things, but this year I've sprouted three kinds of tomatoes, cucumber, a couple of herbs and several flowers. My husband turned a large planter (called the 'tank' by us) into a "hot house" and I put the first ones in there. They are several inches tall and seem to be doing fine. I started them about the 13th of March and they popped up almost right away. I'm using organic seeds, some heirlooms. I started a second planting (sprouting) about the 23rd and they are up but still inside our house under a grow light.
I was wondering at what stage can they be planted outside? (I realize that it might be a little cool yet to put them in the ground.) They are all in little peat pots. Gloria

hi Gloria, I am probably going to be planting some of mine out next w/e. only because i wanted to wait until about mid april and plus it's one of the best moon transplanting signs. this is my first time wintersowing, but it does seem to work very well. my husband put up a pvc hoop style plastic greenhouse for me and i've had them in there with ventilation and a box fan running most of the day...seem to like it and i'm also feeding them once a week. they've grown quite a bit since this pic. i'll try and post a new one tomorrow. i have always started mine in the house under lights and they did well that way, but they should this way too. the tomatoes that i started this way have been slow growing. but, after i started feeding them, they are growing more.
